I turn on my washer and get DE on my screen, what does that mean

On front-load washers, it can stand for "door error", meaning the main control board thinks the door is open. If the door is actually closed and the de error won't clear, the electric door lock could be shorted, giving a false signal to the main control board. On the Samsung top-loader, it means a "child lock error" has happened. On that washer, you will see "CL" or "DE", the washer will auto-drain and an alarm will sound. To clear the error, close the door, turn off the power, then turn it back on.

The DE code indicates a problem with the door locking and can be the control, door latch or door switch assembly.
If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Are you saying you have a "DE" code? If so, this simply means that the washer is unbalanced. Open the door, shift the items inside and try to reset it.

DE is for a door lock error and you will need to replace the lock. Here is the part to order.

DE = Door Error.

Latch, sensor or similar has failed.

OE and DE means Open Error and Door Error.

"de" means door is open you have to close the door titly then press the start bottom or check door switch if its out of order or not with digital multi meter.

Error code DE means door error problem.  Could be that the door switch doesn't sense the locking mechanism is working properly and may need to be replaced.  This will require a service call from a qualified LG tech to diagnose the problem.
