How can I clean the drum in my Muratec copy machine versus purchasing one if I can clean it?

Hi when you say clean the drum the drum is cleaned by the drum cleaning blade if the blade is no good then the drum will not be cleaned if you want to clean the drum you canuse a very soft cloth lint free to clean the drum
it is not really something you clean unless like you got a label stuck on the drum once they reach there life they need to be replaced as you can create a lot more issues with the machine

Is there a way to clean the drum on the HP laserjet p3005n The toner and drum are one unit.

You don't want to clean the drum. It is done automatically as the drum rotates. The cleaning blade scrapes the residual toner off of the drum.

If the drum is not getting clean then you have to replace the cartridge.

Brother mfc. I made the mistake to use canned air to clean copier which got into my drum and made black streaks on my paper I keep cleaning the black streaks off the drum but when i put it back in i have...

First clean the glass of the laser. If you open the front door remove the drum from the machine just above were the drum was in place there is a glass mounted.Try and make a test print. If the streaks is still printing and you can see the streaks is deffinately from the drum you can strip the drum, clean the corrona wire and grit, and clean the drum brush.Strip only the drum unit if you sure the lines is caused by the drum.

Print smears

Hi Allan:
Sounds like you need to replace the drum pivot plate assembly. This assembly is what cleans the drum assembly prior to putting the image on the drum. The pivot plate assembly has a rubber drum cleaning blade on it and when the printer begins to print a page it cleans the drum first. If the cleaning blade or the pivot plate are deffective then the drum will not be cleaned properly leaving smudgy areas on the drum.
