The problem is probably with the site, not your computer. Websites that provide secure connections (as I assume the one you are having problems with does since it specifies
port 443) are issued a certificate by a signing authority, such as
VeriSign. These certificates are only valid for a limited amount of time, after which they expire. That is why rolling the date back can solve these problems (or cause them). You should contact the web master and get them to update their certificate.
In Windows, you can
add an exception for an expired certificate by going to Tools > Options, selecting the Advanced Tab, clicking the View Certificates button, selecting the Server tab, and then clicking the Add Exception Button.
If that sounds like a pain in the ***, its because its not meant to be a casual affair. People shouldn't get in the habit of ignoring security certificate problems.
