Red power light flashing on and off

My camcorder has been fine until recently. Now when I turn it on to "camera", the red power light stays on for 3-4 seconds and then starts flashing on and off. It will record for the 3-4 seconds that the red power light stays on consistently, but when the red power light begins flashing on and off, it will no longer record. Also, when the light is on, the LCD displays the word "index"...I have never seen this before. It stops recording when the "index" word disappears.

I have the same problem too - called customer service - said power supply problem will cost ~200 plus shipping :(.

Any cheaper way to fix it?

I have the same problem...started with the VCR mode...won't play or rewind or FW tapes, but for a few seconds, light flashes...nothing...same thing in record mode

I am having the same problem. The power light flashes in VCR mode and record mode. I have noticed though, if there is no mini DV tape in there, that you can put it in picture mode and it won't flash. Has anyone else noticed this?

Can't take picture or record video?

Try turning the screen all the way around and close the screen so the screen its left outside where you can see if that doesn't work you will need to replace the ribon that connects the screen to camcorder.

Camera will not turn on, red light flashes once. Possibly because it has been overcharged.

Bluetooth wont charge or power on. when charging the red light comes on. once disconnected from charger it wont come on

Indicator Lights:
1.Headset Status Headset Indicator Light
2.Powering on Steady blue, then intermittent flashes
(changes to standby mode)
3.Powering off Red appears and goes off
4.Standby Blue intermittent flashes
5.Charging battery Red solid light. Light indicator turns off when
battery is fully charged and headset is off.
6.Low battery Triple red flashes
7.Pairing mode Blue/red alternating flashes
8.Missed call Purple flashes. Press the call control button
to cancel flashing light.
9.Incoming call Triple blue flashes when ringing.
Power on and off:
1.Turn on the headset Press and hold the call control button until the
indicator glows blue. You will hear ascending
tones.
2.Turn off the headset Press and hold the call control button until the
indicator glows red. You will hear descending
tones. When power is off, indicator stays off.
If none of this is helpful then it may be that your battery is dead, if that is the case then you will need to replace the whole headset. The battery's are not replaceable.

Good luck from Headsets Direct!

Flashing Red Light....

The flashing "boat" in the middle of the viewfinder just means the button battery is dead. Camera will still work. It's the little pull-out light grey plastic thing that's next to the heel of your right hand when you're using the camera normally. You need a CR2025 cell.

Help with my Panasonic nv-ds1 camcorder ? ? ?

Its the tape is stuck or the mechanism is jammed or the small pan caps have started there demise of your camcorder.. Inside most camcorders there are small surface mounted capacitors made by panasonic and they all I say ALL will leak one day and when they do its not just the cap thats bad but if left unattended it will eat up the Printed curcuit traces on the pc board. Have the unit looked at right away by a camcorder expert and see if its too late to save the board. Good Luck
