Got cox Digital cable box today, cox can not tell me how to hook up to box to make it rec/play. Info I read old cox papers from 2002 says I need a vcr controller, Cox does not know what that is and it was in their info in 2002.

Ur tv have a big back like hunt back creature?Yes?This tv it is not a Digital tv.It is an old CRT tv-tube analogue design tv.This tv still will work and have a broadcasting incomming signal if it is hook up to a pay services tv like Satalites tv like Direct Tv,Dish Network tv,Timewarner or Cox Cables services and ATT U verise or Verizon Fio digital hook up.If u wanted to watch a switch over FREE OVER THE AIR DIGITAL incomming broadcasting signal for this tv it will not work alone,the tv must have be to hook up to a BOX that call a DIGITAL CONVERTER BOX than this tv will work for a FREE OVER THE AIR DIGITAL broadcasting tv channels stantions.This DIGITAL CONVERTER BOX are no longer on sale on regular Stores.Tries websites like Amazon.com,Ebay.com will able to buy these BOXES so call DIGITAL CONVERTER BOX.

Replace the cable from your cable box to television. Try one from one of your other cable boxes before buying one, but I highly suspect the actual cable from box to TV is bad

You need to have a newer digital antena hooked up to it also if your tv is flat panel and its less than say 2 years old the digital tuner should be built in. I dont mean to sound dumb but if you are using a digital coverter box and thats what the antenna is hooked up to make sure your in the menu of the converter box. You can determine this by what channel the TV is on. If you hooked the Box to the coaxle then your TV should be on 3 or 4 if you used Composite(RCA) cables then it should be on aux. But once again I will say the antanna makes all the difference with digital. Old ones do not work. Please respond with more info if this doesnt help.

As far as I can tell your TV is just a monitor. You would have to buy a separate tuner. I had the same problem with mine and found it was cheaper just to use an old VCR. I hooked up the coax wire up to the VCR and hooked the VCR to my TV with composite cables and changed my channel through the VCR. That will only work now if you're using cable because of the switch to digital. If you're using an antenna you will need a digital tuner.

I have a magnavox dvd recorder/vcr combo (ZV427MG9A) connected to my Sharp hdtv via hdmi cord, Can anyone tell me simple setup steps to make it record and play on either sides. I have read instruction book over and over and it is still not recording to disc or tapes. I also have Charter Cable connected. Can you tell me what do i need to do to make it work. H-E-L-P!!!!

Chances are good that your panasonic would not support HDMI 1.3b firmware and you would loose audio or video anyway. If your Panasonic has digital inputs, ie. coaxial digital or optical, run audio to your receiver and HDMI direct from Cable box/ DVD/other source to TV. I have the same tv with the same problem ---Green and I have found that the HDMI cable from my Blue rayplayer works just fine when the regular tv is green /I have come to the conclusion that the digital board is not working right so I just went to cox and got the box . I am going to hook my cable up to the top set box from cox and then I am going to hook the component video cables to the tv then I will bypass the Board ,and not scew the cable into the tv . we shall see I think it will work as long as my HDMI and component jacks dont give out to .

OK, I just figured this out. Go to the audio options in your DVD player and switch from pcm to bitstream. Now my movies sound right again.

If the cable box isn't transmitting surround sound your stereo won't play it. You may be able to emulate it with settings on the receiver.
