Surf to Kyocera's website, download the latest software for your operating system, once you have the software installed you should be able to set all the options you would like in the printers control panel. such as start.. printers and faxes..... right click printer go to properties for all tray assignments and settings. (this instruction is for windows) bypass must be selected after you select print. hope that helps.
Under paper handling for mp tray (bypass) change the feed select to manual tray instead of cassette..then when you have paper in bypass it will pull first

you need to scroll thru your menus...paper handling section...make sure mp tray is set to FIRST..that way it will pull from the mp tray untill it is empty than switch to your cassette

SOURCE: how to i stop paper jams on kyocera ecosys
The first thing you need to do is open the device and clear any debris: leftover paper pieces, toner, etc. If this does not fix the jamming, the device could use a more thorough service. Inspect all of the moving parts and make sure that they are firmly attached. If it's possible to tighten down some components, a minor tweak with a screwdriver can work wonders.
Something a little unorthodox, but that has helped me in the past is lubrication. You could try lubricating the printer with mineral oil or paper shredder oil. There are two ways of doing this. You could open the machine up, locate rollers and then brush the oil onto the rollers. Or you could simply put a very then layer of mineral oil on a piece of paper and then run the paper through the machine. The first few pages out of the machine will have oil on them, but after a half dozen pieces or so, the parts should operate more smoothly and be less likely to jam.
I hope that helps.
