After i put the clothes in the dryer and close the door, the dryer will not start when i press start. It makes a short "click" sound and then doesnt start. The timer seems to be fine and the light inside the dryer is fine but the dryer wont start.

check door for debris or blockage around latch. sounds like door either isn't closing all the way or sensor isn't reading it's closed.

It sounds like maybe the switch that recognizes your door is closed my be bad or out of adjustment. Look for a 3/8" to 1/2" opening on the face of the surface that the dryer door meets. There may be a small plate that acts as the actuator. It may also be a small rod sticking out that gets pushed in by the door. Either way, try to actuate it with your hand or screwdriver with the door open and press the start button and see if that works. If not you'll possibly have to take the dryer apart to get at the switch. If you're comfortable with using basic tools this can be done and you just need to be patient while doing it. Test the switch if you have an ohmeter to see if it works. An ohm reading is fairly simple to do and meters cost less than $30 at a Home Depot. Don't get intimidated by their dials and number readouts. (O.L. = Open, 0 ohms = closed) If the switch doesnt change states it's bad and you'll need to search the p/n on the switch in Google. Someone on Ebay or other sites will likely sell these switches for $5 or less. Hope this helps.

the motor could be weak or the little pulley the belt goes around could be bad

Door latch settings are out because door slamming and abuse of unit

their are two possiblities causing that

1) while cleaning the lint from the motor a wire accidently got pulled of of the motor switch

2) to me the buzzing when start button is pushed and may or may not start,the motor is bad

When trying the trick to start the motor by hand the door switch also must be pressed in

Well first of all you can check door switch - If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. The door switch is a simple on / off switch to indicate whether the dryer's door is open or closed. The dryer will not operate when the door is open. If your dryer runs with the door open, the switch may shorted closed or there may be a dangerous electrical short in your dryer. If your dryer will not start when you press the start button and you hear no sounds, the door switch may be the problem.

Try pressing on the door to close it and
see if it starts. It sounds like the door switch has failed or the actuating arm is bent. You should hear a click as the door just barely opens or is nearly closed. No click = no start. I.e. Door switch problem.

Many different possibilities. Could be thermal fuse, timer / control, motor. Start switch, or door switch. Most likely need to call service unless you have means to troubleshoot and test parts.

Check the door switch. A little lever sticking down through top rightof door opening. If it is not there you will need new doorswitch(sometimes the little lever breaks off). If it is there and doesnot click when you press it in you need a new door switch. if it clicksand clicks when you close the door then you have a bad thermal fuse.The thermal fuse is found by taking the back of the dryer off. The fuseis an oblong white plastic piece with 2 wires attached.

Sound like the unit doen't know the door is closed the door switch is not working. does the light inside the drum come on when the door is open and off when the door is closed
