My 1996 Chevy Tahoe is still missing after I changed plugs wires

I hope you changed the plugs at the same time because a bad plug wire will destroy a good spark plug, if the ignition system is good look for a bad fuel injector by unplugging injectors one at a time each one will make the engine run rougher until you get to the bad one that will make no difference that's the one to replace. If all of this checks out you most likely have a mechanical problem with the engine. I hope this helps. Take care.

Every time it starts raining truck starts missing and cutting out it's a 97 f 150 ford 4.6 motor.

Possibly a plug wire or cracked distributor cap. I'd take a spray bottle and while it's running (be careful not to get your body parts in danger of the fan) spray some water on the cap area. If everything seems fine, you could spray down each plug wire at a time. See if you find the culprit that way. For a vehicle so old, if you haven't done a tune up lately. It's probably a good time. Replace the distributor cap and rotor. Plugs and wires.

2001 chevy blazer wont start when raining. will start after a lot of cranking

Check your secondary ignition system, cap, rotor, wires. I suspect either the cap has a lot of condensation in it and is not allowing spark to the plugs or the plug wires are getting wet and leaking spark before it can get to the plugs. Should be pretty easy to check after a long hard rain or if it has been some time since you last tuneup these items along with spark plugs are most likely due for replacement anyways.

1999 chevy blazer not starting

Check the plug wire from the ignition coil to the distributor cap.
If you haven't already, replace the distributor cap and rotor.
The GM Vortec's have issues with moisture getting inside the cap and rotor and causing problems.

Replaced bad fuel pump, installed new relay and fuel filter, engine turns over but is not firing on..... positive the fuel pump is pumping gas and checked to see if gas was going thru fuel filter. Tried...

Hi, Ok you have confirmed that it's not a fuel problem. You need to check for spark. Pull the coil wire off of the coil(secondary lead-looks like a spark plug wire) Have some one crank it over and listen for a popping sound. IF yes, spark is at the coil, that means all ignition sensors are working. Next check for spark at ends of wires after cap. IF no replace cap and rotor. IF yes remove a couple spark plugs and check for fouling(wet, fuel etc...) IF yes replace or clean plugs and retest for starting. IF no spark is present at coil you need to scan computer and watch for rpm signal. IF no rpm signal, replace crankshaft sensor with OEM delco part. BIGGEST problem with these engines is Cap and Rotor burn out.

Wont start when it rains

Try replacing the cap, rotor, and spark plug wires. When they get wet they are grounding the spark out to the motor so the spark plugs do not fire. If you have this problem in the winter because of the wet and the salt, it helps to spray the cap rotor and wires with silicon spray to repel the moisture.

2001 chevy s-10 pickup, 4.3 EDI ignition NO SPARK

yes if the distrubutor is out one gear tooth is enough to keep it from firing at right time, let me tell you how to drop it in,first take out number one plug, should be front plug on drivers side, turn over motor slow bumping it with someone with a finger over the plug hole to see where number one is all the way up, when the piston comes up to blow off your finger, stop, take something to slid in plug hole to feel piston it up ,drop in the distributor where the rotor is pointing at number one one the distrubtor cap ,when cap is on the rotor is at number 1 on cap ,should crake there ,time with timing light then ,hope this helps you, thanks robert b.

1988 nissan pulsar wont crank

The black color of the spark plugs indicate that the engine was running rich (too much fuel). The fact that they were wet tells me that there may not have been ignition. The carb being wet may be just from flooding when you tried to start the engine.
First off you need to determine if you are getting spark. You can do this by connecting one of the plugs to a wire and grounding it to the block. Have someone crank the engine and watch the plug for spark. Blue is good yellow is week. Use care holding the plug as it can give off a nasty kick. If you don't have spark than its time to check the wires, distributor cap, rotor and so on.

Wont start after it died one night

The cap should be marked for number 1. The distributor turns clockwise. The firing order is 1-3-4-2.
