G'Day
Although you TV does not have HDMI inputs, you can get an adaptor from here to allow you to plug a HDMI connector into your TV. This will solve the problem for you. Could be a huge cost saving for you, to get the feature without having to upgrade your set. Cheers

HDMI`S DON`T WORK ON VIZIO TV

The HDMI controller is bad. The easiest "work around" is to use the "Component" connectors instead. The only downside is you get no higher than 720P. However, most cable/satellite and _all_ antenna signals are only 720P anyway. Most people are only seeing 1080P when viewing Blu-Ray discs. Cheapest alternative is to buy an "HDMI to Component" converter, which will let you connect multiple HDMI connectors to one box, and then have one set of Component connectors coming out of the box. You select different "sources" on the box itself.

Both HDMI ports are bad due to lightening strikes. What do I need to do to fix this? Can you suggest part numbers?

The main tv Tuner signal board have problems and all those HDMI insert ports are shorted dead, those HDMI insert ports are put on by wave soldering machine and fused by iron core solders joints to the main tv Tuner board itself. These HDMI insert ports are not replaceable by hand soldering equipments or can buy those HDMI insert ports individually anyway.Tv still work wright?Yes? Why don't u just skips the used of those HDMI insert ports all together and tries used those RCA component cable connections like AV1 and AV2 on the tv.Or u must have some mechanicals skills and like take things aparts and putting back together again?Yes?Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish tv main Tuner signal board for the replacement to able to used those HDMI insert ports again.I have the same problems with my Samasung 46" all my HDMI insert ports are dead too,but the tv still functions. That what i did used RCA cable components connections for my cable box and blu Ray player.

Is the HDMI from the HD TV A/V go to the out HDMI?

No..... (In theory, yes.) In practical application, no. Run HDMI from your source directly to the TV then use digital coaxial or optical for audio to the receiver. There are many problems with HDMI while processing it thru a receiver. For all the info on HDMI problems, Google "HDMI problems" and there are literally 1000's of posts and articles to read regarding the current issues. Hope this helps

Hdmi is connected, but invalid format is displayed on the TV

Check HDMI cable over version 1.3. If the HDMI cables you use don’t support HDMI version 1.3, it can cause flickers or no
screen display. In this case use the latest cables that support HDMI version 1.3.

Colours turns blue and green from HD channels

The most likely cause of your problem is the cable box HDMI output. If you have some extra cables, try connecting the TV to the cable box using the component connections. I'll bet your problem will go away. Don't let the cable company lie to you; I work on Sony TV's everyday and see plenty of cable box HDMI issues. Some of my customers have exchanged their boxes 4 or 5 times and still have HDMI issues. Your best bet is to use the component outputs or switch to Dish or Direct TV, as they DON"T have HDMI problems. If this solution works, be sure to rate it. Thanks!
