HP DeskJet 1280 InkJet Printer Logo
Posted on May 06, 2008

Slow Printing My 1280 has been printing OK, but recently it started going slow! From any program (printing to A3), after I send the print, the printer initialises, but then does very little for some time before eventually printing the page. I now get a message "This document failed to print..." about 15 secs after each time I send a print, even though the printer eventually does its job. To the best of my knowledge nothing has been changed. Any help is appreciated

My hp 1280 won't print A3. Just has blue light underneath and then ejects paper. It will print A4 ok.

Go to printer and faxes in your windows then open hp1280,

click printer and click properties.

Click on the printing preferences button.

click the basics tab then click the advanced features button.

on the media width sensor, uncheck it.

Priter -> Properties -> Printing Preferences -> Basics -> Advanced Features

on the media with sensor , Uncheck It.

1280 a3 is not printing

Delete the printer and install the printer again with drivers for 1220c. This solution actually worked when i faced the same scenario.

Allegro2 Print Too Slow (25 seconds send from Windows XP)

miaharoon: Printing via Windows driver it's too long time because the driver sent a lot data to printer. Also the print speed via serial port it's slow. Inside driver, install Datamax printer fonts and barcode fonts to use it in Windows programs.
