THE SANSUI 2600 TV IS HOOKED UP TO AN IWDVD-100. HOW DO YOU TURN OFF THE CLOSED CAPTION WHEN VIEWING A DVD? IN THE SETUP MENU, THE CLOSED CAPTION SELECTION IS SET TO OFF ON THE TV AND DVD, STILL THE WORDS ARE SHOWN AT THE BOTTOM. PLEASE HELP.
This is likely your DVD player, not the tv.
First go into the setup menu of your DVD player and make sure "subtitles" are turned off.
Next, put a DVD into the player and when it gets to the menu, go into the audio setup.
If subtitles are turned on, turn them off. If subtitles are turned off, turn them on and exit the menu, then go back into the menu and turn them off again. I've seen this reset this same problem on some DVD players.
CC (Closed Caption)
To select the options in the CC sub-menu, press the MENU button or the #
button. A new menu will be displayed showing the following CC settings:
CC
The CC feature is available when watching regular analog (NTSC) TV.
Select from CC1, CC2, CC3 or CC4. Closed Caption for regular TV is
usually CC1 or CC2.
Digital CC Style
The Digital CC Style feature is available when watching digital TV.
Select either As Broadcaster or Custom. If Custom is selected then
you can customize the way Closed Caption is displayed.
