Whirpool Washer, Loads become unbalaced in spin cycle.

The tub seems to have too much movement. Washer loads become unbalanced in spin cycle no matter how small. Is this easy to fix myself?

It has a bad balance ring on the top of the basket no so hard but not that easy either
you have to remove the case to get to the balance ring
go to www.sears.com and go to parts and put in the full model number, under the parts tab in appliances and select view brakedown and it will explain it better with you seeing it

My bravo washer is not starting a cycle when I press start button. Also water is still in tub from last load that did not drain.

Sounds like you washer is trying to spin out and becoming unbalanced and cutting off.. Move timer to spin and see if water spins out. If so try running a load and say with it so if it becomes unbalanced you can arrange clothes before returning timer runs out.

When the washer displays uL when spinning?

'Unbalanced Load' occurs when the machine detects that one side of the tub is heavier than the other.
This most often happens when heavy and/or large items become pushed to one side of the tub during the wash and become much heavier when the spin cycle engages.
This is more often seen in 'tub' style machines rather than front loaders.
Usually the machine has a safety system which shuts down the spin cycle and 'buzzes' to alert you to reach in and move things around in order to rebalance the load.

Spin vefy fast

A rapid spin cycle is actually a GOOD thing. This is an indication that the gearcase (transmission) and the drive motor are both running strong.

If the washer shudders during the spin cycle the first thing you need to do is check to ensure the washer is properly leveled. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3868923-level_whirlpool_top_loading_washer

The model Whirlpool top loader you have, has an auto-leveler mechanism on the back two legs that can become unlevel periodicailly. You should check the washer level from time to time when it is empty. You need to also make sure the washer is level in ALL directions (front-to-back and side-to-side).

Accidental unbalance problems that can occur from washing blankets, comforters, or heavy loads of towels can also cause the washer to become unlevel and shake. This can also contribute to the level mechanism becoming unbalanced.

Overloading the washer can also cause unbalance problems. Washing blankets or conforters can cause the load weight to shift to one side of the tub. This will result in a tub that shakes violently and bangs against the cabinet. You may have to redistribute the load weight when washing heavy items. This can also occur when washing loads of towels. This is NORMAL as some heavy items do not distribute the weight evenly.

Another problem (which is less common) that can contribute to wash unbalance problems is a weak floor under the washer. If the floor flexes (even the slightest) during the spin cycle, it can cause the washer to bounce or shake. Mobile homes or laundry rooms on the second floor of a home are notorious for having weaker floor structures. This washer has a 35 gallon tub capacity. Coupled with the weight of a wet load and the spinning action, this can put a lot of centrifugal force on a floor.

If you have any questions or concerns, please post back and let me know. I hope this information is helpful to you.

Maytag A511 washer tub vibration

The tub should not become unbalanced over time. There suspension springs may wear unevenly, however. Replace all of the suspension springs and it should be fine.

Loud knocking noise at end of spin cycle

To allow for unbalanced loads and reduce vibration in the floor of the house, the outer tub is suspended by various means. Some machines use a heavy rubber ring, others use spiral springs but either of those can, after a heavily unbalanced load, unhang themselves or in the case of the rubber suspension, the rubber tires and rips.
If you remove the back panel (10-12 screws) and look inside while pushing the tub side-to-side, you should be able to find the suspension and inspect it with good light.
