Hi Expert, If I look at the lens of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7, there is dust in between the front two lenses. What can I do to solve this? Rgds, Aart

If you couldn't see the dust when you watch your pics it would cause no problem, and so no one would post anything about it everywhere on the web. So yes, every camera has dust inside it, what if it's visible on the pics? I even can see it when I look at the lense on my cam, it's there alright. Ty, if you have a solution I would gladly hear it, other than "don't worry about it" , because , yes it's annoying and yes I DO worry about it, a lot. So after spending a few hours reading smartass answers on the subject I will share my conclusions here , it might help someone. I guess the easier way is to bring back the cam to the store to be cleaned, and as it's not part of the guarantee: having to pay around 60 bucks for them to do it. and then do it again in a few months because the more you use the camera .. even if you take good care of it , there will be dust in it at some point. :o)

You can find dust in-between the lenses in 95% of all camera. Unless you can actually see the dust on the pictures, it's nothing to worry about. The dust is so out of focus that it rarely causes any problems.

Lense stuck out and can't take pictures

In all probabilities, the lens barrel must have tilted, preventing the lens from retracting into the barrel. It could also be possible that some dust particles got stuck in between the segments of the lens barrel. Check for these. Try to straighten the barrel without using much force, and try to remove any dust particle that got stuck between the segments.

Remove lens

GOT IT!!! I had the same problem. Took all of the screws out of the thing and disconnected the PCB. That allowed me to take the Lenses unit out. Once I did that, dismantle the Phillips screws from the rear of the lens and pull the lens apart. I found a Little White speck of dust on the Sensor. Took that off, put it all back together and it’s like New!! Chuffed. Hope you have as much Luck as I Did. :D
