Question about LG Flatron L1919S LCD Monitor

I am using a Macbook,with my Flatiron wide LG. Never had a problem. Yesterday, I changed the resolution to see if I could get a better picture of a sport activity, and then I was unable to return to the event I was watching. The screen is black other than a sign saying "Check Signal Cable". I have tried unplugging the screen. No change. HOWEVER, the screen works perfectly with my iBookG4 (though I can't play the sport on this laptop). SO, the problem lies with the Macbook. But where?

Thanks for the reply. I have tried all the resolutions in addition to the one you mentioned, and still nothing happens. As I said, the screen works ok with my other laptop.

You need to set your MAC laptop back to the native resolution of the monitor again, which is 1280 x 1024 @60Hz.
Please try that and post back.

OK, thanks for the clarification on your setting.
I have no idea at this point as to what happen to the MAC to cause thisn problem, please post back the solution if you figure that out, thanks.

How do I reduce scan file size when the resolution is already 200 dpi?

An 8.5 inch wide document scanned at 200 dpi gives you an image that is 1700 pixels wide. This is almost enough to fill a fullHD TV screen at native resolution (1920 pixels wide) which is unnecessary detail. I would use any picture editing programme (many free ones available) to reduce the overall pixel width of your already scanned images by 50 percent. This will automatically reduce the 1MB image to 250k. If you can scan again, use 100 dpi to scan - the result is same; image will be half as wide (and long), and picture file size one quarter of the 200 dpi scan.

Resolution is bad.

My guess is you running win xp or vista its pretty much the same.
Here is a good site there shows you to change the resolution
on your screen:

Try also to upgrade your graphic driver you get a better picture if
you do that.

I have an LG Flatron W2234S and today it blipped and changed from a wide screen to a square type screen. Resolution and Hrz are the same as before, but now I cant seem to change it back to Wide Screen,...

I gueess u have changed the zoom....try pressing that button again...

First try changing the screen mode on ur TV, FULL/ZOOM/WIDE. If not then try changing the desk resolution on ur PC to the same resolution ur TV is. to be save just change it to 800X600. If that wrks then look in ur manual or right the bos it cam in, shld say what the TV max resolution is.

Hello,
Your Macbook should automaticaly find the best resolution, if everything was OK. Is there any HDMI input on the dell projector? What projector is it? Is there is an HDMI input, you can use a HDMI to mini DVI cable: better picture and sound than VGA, and will probably solve your problem

Try changing to a different video resolution setting. Most monitors work well with the resolution set to 1024 X 768. I'm not sure what operating system you're using, but here's an example of how to do it with Windows XP...

Right-click on your desktop...then click Properties -- Settings --
You can try different resolution settings in the settings window.

I think the problem is the screen resolution and size of your pc is not matching the resolution size of your tv or is not compatable at the size you have it on or you may have to change to 4:3 ratio from widescreen. In your manual it will tell you the resolution sizes that you tv uses. You would probably be better also using the VGA to DVI lead, thats if it came with the tv (it does in the UK) as it supports higher wide screen resolution, whereas VGA will only support 1024 x 768 or there abouts.
