What is the difference between the toner and developer on this printer? The manuals we have don't give any info on installing developer, but you can purchase both toner and developer for this copier/printer. Help!

Toner provides the color, Developer consists of magnetic particles that carry the color on the outside of the developer drum, which is magnetic. Some developer is lost on each copy, although most stays in the developer unit. When you run low on developer, your image gets lighter and lighter, until the machine reports an error because it can no longer self calibrate. One change of developer suffices for many changes of toner. There is a procedure involving various actions and codes to flush the developer material out and load new developer in. This is not difficult, but there are a couple of reasons you might not want to do it if you are unsure why or if you should. First, developer for these estudio copiers, is very expensive. Second, unless you know how many copies have been made on the existing developer, you might change the developer, and fail to correct the problem. There are related service items, involving the cleaning blades, and seals, servicing charging grids, corona wire, and general cleaning of the 4 developer units and opc drums. Including dusting with zinc sterate, etc., etc. Its hard to know where to begin or where to stop. If you really want to know all about it, order a manual from any of a variety of on-line sources. Good luck

Seems to be a black toner supply issue. Try a different black toner cartridge. Also, make sure the sealing tape has been removed, and give the cartridge a good shake before inserting. Also could be waste toner cartridge, or even the developer, but we always hope for the least expensive option first!

I NEED TO DUE A 600K MAINTENACE KIT BUT KIT CAME WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS. TRYING TO DETERMINE HOW TO CHANGE THE DEVELOPER PROVIDED IN KIT. ANY INFO OR HELP WUD BE GREAT

Disclaimer ... this advice is worth what you paid for it ... Nothing...
DO NOT FORGET TO TAKE THE NUMBERS OFF THE NEW DEVELOPERS FOR THE SENSOR RESETS EACH DEVELOPER HAS A GREEN TAG WITH A BAR CODE AT THE BOTTOM !! VERY IMPORTANT !!
Writing this from memory... may have forgotten somethings...However make sure you have a shop vac in case of accidental spill. Ive done this SEVERAL times... don't actually enjoy this job of many other options....Lexmark X945 ... oh power off the printer first ...

1.Remove the front door 2 screw hold the bracket at the bottom. After the screws are removed they should slide and lift off. The 2 straps disconnect at the printer. Squeeze the tabs and twist they should pop off but be careful not to brake them.
2.Remove the small front/left cover and toner fill shroud. 2 screws hold the front/left cover in place and it just slides up. The toner fill shroud has 4 screws that hold it in place.
3.Remove the toner fill assemblies each color has 1 screw. Be sure to pull the closing slip on the bottom of the drain where it connects to the developer to avoid spilling more than you must.
4.Remove the waist toner full housing assembly. If I remember correct its 1 screw and 1 C-Clamp. Detach the cables and put the part to the side.
5.Remove the bracket that holds the developers in place being careful not to drop cable snaps.
6.Remove old developers fill new developers with fill kit and NOT toner.Make sure the developers are properly insearted so when you get it back together you don't have to take it apart again. Good way to check it when you put them in push down on the end of the developer that sticks out. If it lifts in the rear you don't have it in correctly.
7.Reassembly(reverse what you just did) and reset sensor settings in configuration menu mode.

Blank copies on an ar208s sharp copier

Inside this machine has 3 sections. Toner cartridge, developing unit and drum unit. First pull out the toner cartridge then you will see a blue anodized screw, loosen this screw then pull this section ( developing unit ), if there's already toner inside the chamber, clean it and pour the all the developer into the chamber then put back the developing section, tighten the blue screw and install the toner cartridge.

I have a lanier lp-138c that is giving me a black toner low message on brand new cartridges... Tried 3 different cartridges and at first they register and then to the toner low...

It could be that the black developer unit is clogged. The toner low sensor is located in the black developer unit. A trained copier tech may be needed to troubleshoot this.

Minolta itself is determined concentration of the toner and after a certain time will stop the miks. Simply backfilling new portion developer and set the bank up with toner. Include the device. He stops in a certain time itself.Good luck.
