I have vista home premium, and after turning my PC on today, have noticed the "task bar" think this is what it s called along top of desk top, that has the Internet button, windows mail, video etc, has not come up. i have tried restarting, and running system restore. it brought it back up, then disappeared sometime while on..anyone have some advise please on getting it back.? thanks

Hi, Looks as if the explorer is not starting up automatically. Try to start the explorer manually by Clicking Ctrl+Alt+Del keys together. This will turn on the Windows Task Manager. Then go to File in task manager> Click on New task(Run)> type explorer.exe This should start up the PC...
i had the same problem with vista home premium. vista does not support one touch scanning (pressing the scan button on the printer). to use scanner with vista home os use the paint application and start scanning with the file section. step by step:
start (windows) icon lower left tool bar
programs
accessories
paint
file
from scanner or camera
the hp should start working - note: i sent a short cut to the desk top for the paint program for future use
