Freezer cold/fridge warm

Hi John,

are all the lights on??
if yes, check for fan fuctionality and ice build up inside the freezer portion if freezer is warm, then either the compressor electronics or your cold control could be bad. Also the LG fridges have some issues with coil leaking.

so first look at that and if is warm try to check if the compressor works.

Did you by chance recieve a recall from the manufacturer .? we got one about two years ago we had the same problem, they fixed it because there was danger of fire, i would contact them

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge.The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

If the defrost heating element, defrost timer or evaporater fan weren't working, you'd develop a block of ice on the evaporator. Is the compressor running? If it is, it might have bad valves from the frost buildup scenario. Liquid refrigerant could have gotten to the suction valves. The sealed system should have a five year warranty. On a fridge freezer only the fridge temperature is monitored. In a cold location the fridge might not even need cooling and the freezer would get too warm but the thing won't care.

If the fridge sensor sees it as too warm then it will keep the motor running and the first thing to get really cold is the freezer.

Remember the freezing part is not temperature controlled ion a fridgefreezer.
