Projection bulbs provide a high-intensity light. Most have an approximate 2000 hour life. This can vary greatly depending upon factors such as how often you turn it on and off and how often and how well you clean the filters. As the bulb begins to reach its life expectancy, it will start to get dimmer. A 2000 hour hour bulb, if it reaches that time frame, is expected to be putting out 50% (half) of the brightness that it did when new. It may simply be time for a new projection bulb.
Not knowing the brand or model (not listed here) many sets will flash this when lamp has reached a certain number of hours and many sets when lamp is replaced (see owner manual) the LAMP TIMER has to be reset to start the process over again---usual life is 2,000 hours or 2 years.
the projector will shut off when the lamp hour count reaches expected lamp life. It will restart only long enough to read the hour meter again then shut it's self off again. You can manually reset the hour meter to continue using the same lamp.Good luck.......
It sounds lamp in tv has reached on its end of working hours life and tv requires new lamp. If lamp has not been replaced in last 2-3 years then its time to replace it to fix the problem. Let me know if you have additional question. Thanks.
Hi, TV needs new lamp as existing lamp has reached to end of its working hours life and causing problem. Replace lamp in tv to fix the problem. Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user manual. Thanks.
Most of these sets the lamp has a 2000 hour lifespan and there is a built in counter keeping track of how many hours the set has been on; Most of these sets when you change the lamp you need to have information to get into the Tech menu to reset the timer to zero.
you won't get another warning for 2000 more hours on a lamp that is good for only 2000 hours (give or take). so, if you don't replace it, you run the risk of the lamp exploding at the end of it's life, sending shards of glass and mercury dust throughout the projector.
Hi
Just be aware that the stated lamp projector specs "2000 hour lamp" does not mean you will get 2000 hours. What it means is that the lamp is rated to deliver up to 2000 hours. So some might get 1000 hrs, others 1593 hours etc.
The lamp may have died of its own accord prematurely and obviously unexpected.
With the power and fan coming on my first throughts are either the lamp or the lamp ballast (powers the lamp).

if the bulb has 2000 hours that means it is supposed to last 2000 hours of continual use. It is hard to keep track of the lamp hours though unless the projector has a timer built in. It depends on the manufacturer as to if it is telling you 2000 hours left or used. There should be a way to switch this. But a lamp rated for 2000 hours has 2000 hours of being on is expected lifetime
