Look for bad caps in the power supply first, post back what you find.

yes. chances are its a swollen capacitor or two. i changed mine out, and fixed it. mine was flashing blue and wouldn't turn on. Also, if you have a spare cable, i'd check that first. I know you probably fixed it a few years ago, but someone may need this info. thanks!
