My monitor turns to black screen every 4 seconds. its a viewsonic 2235 wm3

    yes. chances are its a swollen capacitor or two. i changed mine out, and fixed it. mine was flashing blue and wouldn't turn on. Also, if you have a spare cable, i'd check that first. I know you probably fixed it a few years ago, but someone may need this info. thanks!

If you have an Auto Adjust option on your monitor, press that and it should adjust the screen to the correct size.
The button should be on the panel or it might be a setting in the monitor settings itself.

The Screen comes on for 1 second then goes black but you can still faintly see the image on the screen
It can be as simple as bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging tops), that will be the first thing to look for, it can be more serious problem in the inverter circuits or bad CCFL assemblies.

Shuts off to a dark grey, turn VS power off>baon to display image
You may have failing DC filter caps in the power supply just like Viewsonic monitors you can see in my albums, you is about the same as 2235.
If you are not going to DIY you will be better off putting the money toward new monitor, estimate repair up to $100.

Can I connect two mac computers to a Viewsonic 2235 and switch between them
Yes, purchase a kvm (keyboard, video, mouse) switch. They are usually arranged as dual, quad, and eight. Just push a button and it cycles between them in order (toggles back & forth on a dual). Anything more than two is usually used on a server rack to control multiple servers with one keyboard, mouse & monitor. I use a quad myself. You can get one on ebay, staples, office depot, compusa, etc.

Look for bad caps, bad solder joints on the circuits board, etc.
the 2035 is almost the same as 2235. Please look at failed VIEWSONIC monitors here so you will know what to lookl for inside.

Blue power light is on but screen remains black
Common problem with 2235/2245 is failed capacitors in the power supply/inverter board combination. You need to get the P/N and names of the board since there may be more than one version of the assembly for the same model.

Viewsonic 2235 monitor display goes dark after log in--sometimes right away, sometimes after few hours. have to cut computer off and on to reestablish picture. (Have two displays on Radeon 9200 video card)
The power-inverter board capacitors are probably due for an upgrade.
I repair these boards regularly on ebay.

1)solder lose on the vedio socket and around horizental circuit
2) the line
and mostly in viewsonic and compaq its the line wich you need to replace it if you can find it in the market
