Flashing orange triangle on usb when charging. No charging taking place New battery inserted and used successfully When battery flat, problem repeated itself. Don`t know if problem is the plug charger, usb cable or inside the camera Please advise.

If nothing is wrong with the camera, the battery is placed correctly, the battery cover is closed correctly then only one thing can be wrong. Even when you don't believe it is possible, the battery can be flat again.
So to make sure everything is as you think. Charge the battery again, and look if the charger acts as usually. The charging lamp turns orange and charging begins. When the charging is finished, the lamp turns green. Last time you charged, it could have taken 4 hours, before the lamp went green. If the battery is recently charged, it only will take a fraction of that time. If it still takes a long time, your battery was empty. It is recommended, to charge not longer than for 24 hours. After charging, please wait till the battery is cooled down. Then insert it again and close the battery cover. Check the cover closes correctly. And now switch on again.
If you charged with an USB cambs connected to the camera. Don't forget to remove the cable, because the camera won't start as long as an USB cable is connected.

I think the battery was already damaged,a rechargeable battery once you use it,it needs to recharge again so that the battery memory will stay longer.use a new one,regards....

The flashing Orange light means the charge is flashing.
The flashing Green light means the focus and exposure are not correct.

Have you recently replaced the batteries? Or are you using rechargeable batteries? Lack of enough "Juice" could allow for the flash to not charge up (Orange) therefore not allowing the camera to get the correct exposure (Green). I would try new fresh batteries or a new battery pack. If that doesn't fix the issue it must be a bad circuitry in the body that is shorting not letting the flash charge.

I had the same problem. I needed to take the clear plastic insert off but then I had to put a rubber band around the dock and camera (more on the left of the camera and dock) to hold it evenly on there since the camera was leaning on the right and wasn't charging for me. Now it charges as soon as I put it on there with the rubber band with no blinking red light anymore! Hope this helps!

The flashing orange LED is a Battery Critically Low indication.
If the Windows Battery Meter and the BIOS do not show the batteries charging then there may circuit problem in your battery.
If you can, try battery in another system, if you can't, I'd try a new battery before doing any hardware changes to the system

it means your battery is damaged. avoid using battery while using charger in your house. remove battery to be safe. battery is for outside or for travel only.

The battery is flat.
If the battery is very flat sometimes the phone will not start charging or turn on even when a power cable is connected.

This worked for me:
- Remove battery
- Insert power cable/usb cable
- Orange charge light should start flashing
- Re-insert battery
- Leave phone charge for a couple of hours
- Turn on

Hi, I had the same problem!

Had not used my camera for a while so I decided to but my battery on charge, once in the charger the orange light just kept flashing so I left this in "flashing" for a good hour or so.

I removed it and then replaced it, and it was still flashing so I decided to get a new battery (£40!).

I put the new battery on charge over night and it charged great, so I thought I would re-try charging my old one before I sent it away for recycle, and guess what the orange light stopped ON and it was charging!

Not sure what happened here, it was either charge the old for an hour with light flashing and then remove and leave over night and re-try OR insert a good battery to re-set the charger?

But I now have 2 good batteries.
