Question about JVC Car Audio & Video

Jvc KDAVX44 install issue

Hello, I am installing a new deck in my Ford Mustang. I've connected all the power, ground, remote, and illumination wires. I have not connected the parking break wire. Is it necessary to connect the parking break wire for the unit to power up? It's not powering up, even after resetting the unit.

No, you do not need to connect the parking break wire for the unit to be powered. My radio worked when the parking break wire wasn't attached, but you cannot watch video's or use USB without attaching it to something... you can bypass the parking break to a switch if you like.

Try grounding the parking brake wire instead of attaching it. Should bypass brake requirement for video but really should effect powering on

if you installed an aftermarket stereo, the tail lights run through the illumination. make sure all wires are hooked hot to hot and ground to ground. if you installed it while battery was hooked up and touched a wire, most likely blew a fuse

Hello, Chose another powersource for your device. It is possible that you are tied into a circuit breaker that is constantly resettting. Maybe use an MP3 player for the trip and work on it when you get back.

could the wire be on the run side of the ignition, meaning you have to start the car. or check that your ground lead is truly a ground.

you can buy,well we can,adaptor plugs to connect to the h/unit and to the wiring loom plug.normally its yellow=constant power 12v +,red=ignition feed 12v+,[some are other way round]black=earth,blue=power antennae,grey/greyblack,RF speaker,white/whiteblack,LH speaker,Purple/purple black,RR speaker andgreen/green black LR,,orange =illumination dash lights.Those are our standard colour codings,we get in New Zealand.

You should verify your wiring .Also check all fuses. that is on the radio and for the power wire (red) .

its simple that model may be equipped with factory amplifier and cannot transmit to speakers unless bypassed and wired directly to speakers after amplifier but if unsure go to crutchfield.com and get help! or call local audio dealer. Also if you purchase wiring and installation kit it will bypass that.

Cd stero wiring help

Hi,

To my knowledge, the illumination wire need not be connected to the JVC KD-G230. Further, other than the 8 speaker wires, the JVC has only:

black - body ground;
yellow - always on B+12
red - ACC/IGN B+12
blue w/ white stripe - external amp trigger and/or power antenna

Perhaps this might be of further help to you.

Radio Constant 12V+ Wire: Green/Yellow
Radio Switched 12V+ Wire: Yellow/Black
Radio Ground Wire: Black/Green
Radio Illumination Wire: Light Blue/Red
Radio Dimmer Wire: n/a
Radio Antenna Trigger Wire: Blue
Radio Amp Trigger Wire: Blue (Same as Antenna Trigger)
Front Speakers Size and Location: 5′ x 7′ Doors
Left Front Speaker Wire (+): Orange/Light Green
Left Front Speaker Wire (-): Light Blue/White
Right Front Speaker Wire (+): White/Light Green
Right Front Speaker Wire (-): Dark Green/Orange
Rear Speakers SIze and Location: 5′ x 7′ Rear Deck
Left Rear Speaker Wire (+): Gray/Light Blue
Left Rear Speaker Wire (-): Tan/Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Wire (+): Orange/Red

schematic & instructions on deck red (+) - power - 2 amp's power inlet power (+) black (-) - ground - 2 amp's power inlet ground (-) deck yellow wire - remote - 2 the remote amp deck outputs 2 the RCA amp inputs amp RCA outputs 2 speakers it is wise that a pro will install the system it will give u less concerns and u will have warranty on the installation this will save u the money u will spend for fixing a bad installation
