Change the font in the application that you are using.
The problem may be that the printer's resident fonts does not include the font you are calling. So the printer's logic says, "Go find the best font you can." The font search gives you the wrong font.
If your printer allows you to print out the fonts, do that and make sure the font you want is in the list.
If it is not, then you will have to use a "Soft font" and make sure that your application knows to download/include soft fonts to the printer
There is a tiny button on the print serverback plane that you can press with a paper clip. This will print out a label with your IP address information. Get the IP address (hope that the printer is set for DHCP) and enter this into a web browser. This will take you to a web interface that will let you make configuration changes to the print server and printer. If the printer is set to static IP, change the IP address of your PC to be in the same subnet as the printer and then fire up the browser.
The user name for the printer is ADMIN and the password is 1234 by default. You can also download ZebraNet Bridge from Zebra's web site. This application will find your printer on the network and let you install fonts, upgrade firmware, change settings, etc.
iterry,
The font size is controlled by the application, whether it be MS Word, Excel, or whatever.
If it is Microsoft Word, then:
1. Open a document
2. Select [Select All] from the [Edit] menu option
3. All text is now highlighted.
4. [Format] [Font]
5. Select the font Size, etc.
6. Print it out.
You may not want to "save" this document.
Do the same for other documents, etc.
The problem with this type of printer is that when you use true type fonts, they are downloaded as graphics. If you have a field which changes on each label there is an overflow of memory. The solution is to use internal fonts for continuously changing datas
Mechanically there isn't much difference. Electronically the 4Mplus replaced the 4M giving it more memory, ZPLII capabilities, and the ability to work with new barcodes and fonts that weren't supported by the 4M firmware.
Well postscript fonts are vector outline fonts, so they contain instructions about the building of their outlines and curves and such. Hence two files are required to use a postscript font under Windows.
As to how to install these fonts, well
Click Start | Settings | Control Panel.
Double-click on the Fonts folder.
Choose File | Install New Font.
In
the Folders menu, navigate to the folder containing the fonts that you
wish to install. A list of available fonts will appear in the List of
Fonts window.
Click on the font you wish to install or use the "Select All" button to install all fonts in the List of Fonts.
Click on OK.
Please keep in mind:
If
you are installing fonts from a CD be sure the 'Add without copying
files' box is NOT checked; unless the fonts are on a located somewhere
(such as a network) which you will have access to at all times.
Postscript fonts have two files: PFB (printer font binary has outlines that
control how the font looks) and PFM (printer font metrics has
information about font spacing). Be sure you have both font files.
If
you currently have or previously had Adobe Type Manager Deluxe 4.0,
4.1, or 4.1.1 installed you may need the Adobe Deluxe Updater in order
to properly use your Postscript fonts under Windows XP. Get it from
Adobe.
Hope this helped. Let me know and if yes please rate me:)
