Jvc lt40ds7bj this lcd tv works ok but refuses to give a dvb picture through its own tuner. if operated via one of the external inputs that is via scart socket using a seperate dvb tuner everything is ok. i am suspecting either a faulty digital tuner or loss of power to the tuner has anyone any experience of this fault?

What model of DVD player do you have? The RF cable jacks on dvd players are only for switching the RF. All players always use AV input/output or Component input/output, the later is the best.

Hi, I have buy a Frontech External TV Tuner card. On connecting to my LCD monitor (AOC) the monitor displays "Input Not Supported", but if my computer is running fine from the card (as manual...

TV tuner cards receive an input. Your monitor should still be connected to your computer using the VGA/DVI/HDMI output. The software for the TV Tuner should take the input from the external cards input and output it to your monitor like any other desktop application.
If your Monitor is giving you input not supported from your standard video output then you may have your resolution set to high,or the monitor frequency set too high (max of 60hz typically for LCD)

Hi there,

Depending on your Satellite receiver's output type (i.e. HDMI or Component - Red, Green, Blue) you should connect to your tv's appropriate external inputs. Example: if you choose to connect the receiver via HDMI, then you use the SOURCE button on your tv and select the correct HDMI input you have connected your device to. If connected by Component (Red, Green, Blue) then use the SOURCE button to select the correct Component input, and so on.

Note: HDMI is the best connection type - you won't be able to access your receiver from the tv's built in tuner.

As above explanation, your VCR and DVD devices should be connected to your tv in the same manner - unless it is a combo unit (VCR & DVD in one), in which case this device can be tuned into your chosen tv channel (via the tv's tuner).

Note: if you have one of the latest SMART tv's, it should already have a built-in "Hi Definition" tuner which will allow you to watch free digital tv broadcast (DVB).

Hope this helps...

Have had a DMR-EX75EB for a couple of years - great bit of kit but for some reason, the digital channels have all dropped out and i cant seem to get them back. I know the aerial feed is good because we...

It is possible that the built in DVB tuner of your DVD recorder has failed, since your TV still has its DVB receiver working fine. I suppose if you have tried to reset the recorder numerous times, and it still has not found any DVB channels, then yes, the DVB tuner has died - probably not economical to replace that as a separate component, since it is hard-soldered to the motherboard, making the overall replacement cost-prohibitive.

But if you want to do so, you can submit your recorder to any authorised DVD service centre for a quote, as well as a detailed description of the problem(s) (assuming the tuner is found to be the culprit); this will help you to make an informed decision as to whether to go ahead with the repair or not. Up to you.

Presuming your unit works otherwise, you should not need a new one (but an external set top box connected via the recorder's inputs may be required if you need to record channels) - but get a couple of quotes from service centres FIRST before doing anything else ((you can always say no to the quotes if they are too high).

My JVC AV-32432 tv unresponsive

Can you switch between tuner and inputs? If not then you may have a number of problem i.e;input selector or controller i.c. If you can switch to tuner(cable) and do not get picture then you may want to check your tv cable connection at the back and along the line (splitters) or your tuner may be defective

Blank screen with other displays still working

1. By View your DVR, Do you mean you can actually see a picture?
2. By "Switch Channels", are these channels being tuned by the TV Tuner?

Your LCD Panel is OK Since you have a Picture (input display in right corner)
If you can see a picture with your DVR, VCR, DVD or any external source then your TVs Video Processing is OK....if not you will probably need to replace the responsible PWB for this function
If you can see a picture with the external sources and only the TV's Tuner is not showing Video, The PWB responsible for Tuning within the TV should be replaced.

Also, if all problems are associated with only the DVR (I assume this is Sat or Cable), then it is most likely that this device is not functioning properly. Possibly lost signal or deauthorized.
