I'm no expert at all... but I had the same problem with my new LG Flatron w1952tq. Some colors would not even display, way too bright... and playing with the settings on the screen would not solve anything. I finally fixed the problem by adjusting the colors and brightness levels from the settings of my graphic card (ATI Radeon). It's all good now.
The manual can be found as a down loadable .pdf at LG's support page

This page gives you some charts to use to calibrate your monitor by eye. I have the same monitor and have not found out how to adjust the luminance value yet.

I cannot get the color calibrated on my new monitor and the screen came with no instructions. Is there some place that I can get instructions on what each button means and how to calibrate this monitors color?
there were no instructions on how to change the screen. The CD will not load either
trying to calibrate my new monitor by eye (same model as above) and having trouble getting the brightness right. Pictures that were exposed properly on my old monitor are way to bright on the new one even after doing my best to adjust the monitor using online calibration tools.
Is there some where I could find LG Computer installation disc...
