SOURCE: My Bosch front loading washer is flashing E:13 and won't open
Hi, i had an E-13 error code on my Bosch 500 series washer. The drain pump
impeller was plugged. Access the drain impeller at the bottom front
right corner. Just put a pen in the hole and turn the cover. Then you
need to manually drain the washer. I used a shop vac by just turning
the cap until it started to leak and vacuum the water as it comes out,
this takes quite a while. When you get it drained you can take the cap
completely off. When I did I found a wipe in the impeller. I took it
out and put it back together and the washer worked just as before.
Take care

Hello, Welcome to FixYa.
3. Insert the bit into the hole in the door. It will push in a tab, it doesn't take much force. Rotate the hole (clockwise) to 6'oclock and it should come free. (the edges are very sharp so be careful). 4. Once the door is out of the way you'll be greeted by a 3-4" plastic cap with wings so you can unscrew it by hand or with the aid of pliers.
**NOTE - you should also see a ring attached, if you pull this the door should unlatch, but getting the water out first if present is usually a good plan
Once the door is open and you've removed the items you wanted. Unplug the washer for 20minutes or so ( or short the the cord that plugs in the wall...while it's unplugged, to discharge the capacitor thus clearing the memory in the control ) and then plug it in again, to see if the control "resets".
Hopefully the info below will supply you with the assistance to get the door open for now at least...and a little more with some luck.
The door typically locks as a result of the unit failing to drain, also the E13 kind of one in the same...usually.
**Unplug the washer from the wall or turn off the breaker before attempting any repairs**
**It's possible the pump has failed or the check ball/back flow is obstructed or "gummed up" but you'll need to try these things fist as the later is a little (or a lot, depends on ones ability) involved to address. Yellow arrow...disregard the orange arrow**
Let me know if you require further assistance and if not and this solves your problem, please rate the solution I provided accordingly.
Thank you for coming to "FixYa" and good luck.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)

Check for voltage to the water valve when starting wash cycle. If no voltage replace main control.
Hello &
Welcome to FixYa
E13 error in
your Bosch WFMC washer is a drain error and is displayed when the drain time
exceeds & the washer is unable to drain so the door won't open sometimes
when this error is displayed. You will have to clean the drain trap in the
bottom right hand corner. You can stick a straighten paper clip in the access
panel located inside the front bottom panel through the whole and then turn the access
panel counter clockwise to unscrew the plastic drain cap behind it. After
everything is cleaned and the error returns then replacing the drain pump is
recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
