SOURCE: How do I change my password?
Connect to your router preferably with a network cable. login via your browser to http://192.168.1.1 using admin as both the login and password. Once logged in it should give you a message to change the password, but if not, you will easily find the location for making a password change. Just make sure you write your new password down so you can change it on every machine you wish to allow on your network.

Short answer: "the power supply is faulty"
SOURCE: ASUS WL-500W - no connection unless the router is reset
I think when you shut down all the computers , the connection between the modem and the router might be dropping.
You can try to upgrade the firmware of the router.

Your ISP address is dynamic, which means every time you log on to your ISP, your WAN IP address changes, this helps to stop hacking. Your ISP even though it is cable uses PPPoE/PPPoA, so you should set your router to this, not dymamic, setting your router to dynamic will make your router look for a different IP address every time your computer tries to log to it, your computer should have e.g 192.168.1.2, which is static, you can check this by going to command prompt and typing ipconfig, see what it brings up. hope this helps and post back if you need further help.
