I have a LG digital dryer about 6yrs old- there is cold air when drying and the clothes are still wet. The lights are blinking "drying" and "cooling" and also filter. My husband cleaned out all the link build up and put a new vent hose to the outside. Would a new heating element or fuse be needed and if so where is it located on the dryer and the cost of the part.

After a drying cycle the clothes are still wet. We set it on the normal cycle and switch it to Extra dry so it is running for about 59 minutes. After the dryer stops the clothes are still very wet. It...

sounds like an air flow problem meaning the dryer is not exhausting the hot air. Best way to check is to disconnect exhaust tubing from dryer and run a cycle. If the clothes dry normally the vent to the outside is plugged. Hope this helps

I have LG DLE2101W just installed yesterday. It

I found your manual and learned yours is a GAS dryer... the FIRST check is to be SURE the gas valve to your dryer is OPEN.

There is a Troubleshooting section, but NOTHING about no heat?

Know that LOW gas pressure CAN be a issue too!

I did find this:

"If the dryer no longer heats then the heating element may have failed, but it is not the most common cause. The most common cause for a dryer to stop heating is a blown thermal fuse."

The SECOND Link will be VERY helpful...

Our LG dryer doesn't get completely hot until the clothes are mostly dry.

heated air enters the dryer at 140 degrees farenheit,
a portion of the heat energy raises the temperature of the water in the clothes.
When the clothes are cold and wet, the difference is large transfer is rapid
a lot of heat transfers to clothes and the exhaust air is damper and colder
As the clothes get warmer and dryer, proprtionally less heat is extracted from the incoming air, and the exhaust air is warmer and dryer.
When the clothes are dry, and at 140 degrees, the same temperature as the incoming air. no heat is removed from the incoming air
the dryer should then stop heating, draw unheated air through the drum and clothes to cool, and reduce wrinkling
then switch off

the dryer appears to be operating correctly

Does not heat

"Steam drying will get how but the air that comes later to actually dry is cold so the clothes never dry"

I am assuming "how" means hot in this sentence, if so, I think I can help! There is no "steam drying" phase for your dryer so what is probably happening is; the wet clothes are being heated properly [as a result causing steam] however if this steam does not escape frum the dryer it will simply condense back onto the clothing [leaving them moist/wet].
Check your flexible tube from the dryer and the vent on the outside of your home to make sure they are unobstructed. Hope this helps!
