Check fuses and connections. Probably loose connection when battery replaced. Do you have a radio code that must be entered. Go to Auto Zone and they will check codes for free. If you have an add on amp check for connection to +and grounds and blown fuses
This could be from a bad fuel filter (has a dark appearance when dry), from the spark arrestor screen in the muffler being plugged up with carbon deposits (take out the spark arrestor screen and clean it by burning off the carbon deposits), or the carburetor needs to be adjusted.
If the carburetor needs to be adjusted I would take it to the nearest Stihl dealer that has a Gold Certified Technician. That way the unit is adjusted properly and is in good running condition. You can find a local dealer with the dealer locator. The link is HERE.

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.
If that doesn't do it, please reply to this post and we'll go on from there.

The video card is integrated into the motherboard on most laptops. Are you sure the inverter for the screen didn't burn out? Does the monitor try to come on, or somewhat light up, when you turn on the computer? That would mean the monitor powered up, but their is not signal coming from the video adapter. If the monitor just appears dead with no "backlight", the inverter, inverter and screen cable, or the screen has probably died.
It sounds like the wires from the battery to the starter solinoid are burned out, possibly even more of them to the main fuse box under the hood. You will have to start looking for the burned wires you can already smell and replace them. Starter and Battery area are a good place to start.
Could be time for a new camera
But check out Kodak Support first.
It has been said that cameras in a certain price band[any make/model] are to be considered as disposable -like toasters and kettles I guess.
