Ice maker not getting water after changing filter

I recently changed the filter on my GS5SHAXNL00 with exact filter removed. Ice maker appeared to be working fine (always had ice) before changing filter. Now water dispenser works but ice maker is not getting water. Water supply (filter removed) was only a couple minutes. Can not even hear solenoid clicking like its trying to get water. Electric eye and ice switch is on. Can there be a passage issue on new filter causing problem? By the way I read where someone had filter crack open, I had this happen with original filter after about 4 months and my water pressure is 54 psi.

Check the following:
Is the freezer door closed completely?
Is the ice storage bin installed correctly?
Is there ice in the storage bin?
Has the ice frozen in the storage bin?
Is ice stuck in the delivery chute?
Has the wrong ice been added to the storage bin? Use only
cubes produced by the current ice maker.
Has the ice melted around the auger (metal spiral) in the
ice bucket?
Dump the ice cubes and clean the ice storage
bin.
Is the ice dispenser stalling while dispensing “crushed”
ice?
Change the ice button from “crushed” to “cubed.” If
cubed ice dispenses correctly, depress the button for
“crushed” ice and begin dispensing again.
Has the dispenser arm been held in too long? Ice will stop
dispensing when the arm is held in too long. Wait 3 minutes
for dispenser motor to reset before using again.

The ON/OFF switch is located on the top right side of the freezer
compartment.
To turn the ice maker on, slide the control to the ON (left) position.
To manually turn the ice maker off, slide the control to the OFF
(right) position.
NOTE: Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. The ice maker
sensors will automatically stop ice production, but the control will
remain in the ON (left) position

REMEMBER:
Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice. Discard the
first three batches of ice produced.
The quality of your ice will be only as good as the quality of the
water supplied to your ice maker. Avoid connecting the ice
maker to a softened water supply. Water softener chemicals
(such as salt) can damage parts of the ice maker and lead to
poor quality ice. If a softened water supply cannot be avoided,
make sure the water softener is operating properly and is well
maintained

The Dispenser Lock (on some models)
Your dispenser can be turned off for easy cleaning or to prevent
unintentional dispensing by small children and pets.
NOTE: The lock feature does not shut off power to the product, to
the ice maker, or to the dispenser light. It simply deactivates the
dispenser levers. The ice and water dispensers will not work.
Style 1: Press the LOCK BUTTON to lock the dispenser. Press the
UNLOCK button to unlock the dispenser.
Style 2: Press and hold the LOCK OUT button to lock the
dispenser. Press and hold the LOCK OUT button a second time to
unlock the dispenser.

Ice maker stopped making ice

Here is a check list to use to verify ice maker is good or bad or if something else is causing the problem.
1) Has the water filter been changed recently, or does it need to be changed? The filter being old can cause a reduction on water and lower performance of anything else that requires water.
2) Check the temperature in the freezer. Even though things are frozen in there, the ice maker requires that the temperature be at least 10 degrees F to even cycle. Ideal would be around the 0 degree mark.
3) Check the fill tube where water comes into the ice maker. From time to time this will get blocked due to water freezing in the tube itself.
********* If the first three checks all pass, either the water valve is bad and not allowing water to come to the ice maker, or the ice maker itself is not calling for water **********
Depending on the age of the machine it might not be a bad idea to change the water valve and the ice maker together.

My ice maker doesnt make any ice

check fill tube in back to make sure no frozen ice obstructing water flow... also make sure you have a clean filter on unit or it has been changed recently.... there are normally dual water valves on these models... one will work dispenser and one will work ice maker make sure your getting water to ice maker itself... if you are indeed getting water it just will not dump most likely you have a broken gear motor orthe heater in the ice maker has failed.. get another ice maker ....

Ice maker is not making ice? Is their a problem with the water? Do I need a new ice maker?

Check to see if water is entering the ice maker.
Be sure the water valve is working and it is not clogged
Have you recently changed the filter ?

My ice maker quit working when I replaced the water filter.

Your model Maytag comes with an electronic ice maker and if you just recently changed the water filter the water should be dispensed for 2 or 3 minutes or until any air that may be trapped in the lines is removed. If air is sill present in the filter the ice maker opens the water control valve for about 7.5 seconds. If air that is what the ice maker will get until the air is completely purged from the system. If you fill that you have past that point then pour tap water into the ice maker and let freeze. After the water freezes the ice maker should cycle and dump. If not the the ice maker core may need replaced. If yes it dumps then the air may not yet purged or the water control valve for the ice maker side may be defective. This is one of those wait and see repairs. I will send you a link to the copy of the service manual and page 71 begins addressing the ice maker. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Maytag model MSD2756GE ice maker. Water not getting to ice maker.

Why was there a need to increase the freezer temperature? Are you having temperature problems as well? If so, your ice maker has a built-in thermostat that, unless and until it is satisfied, will not cycle, thereby, making no ice. If temperature seems ok, and the buzzing is only occasional, then that buzzing is most likely the solenoid valve being energized but not passing water. This is a dual solenoid valve (one supplies the ice maker and the other supplies the dispenser) located at the bottom rear of the refrigerator.

Not making ice

Hi: Change or just remove the water filter first. As your water dispensing slowed that is a clue. If the water filter is that clogged it will cause a problem with the ice maker. Plus the water you drink is not filtered anymore. City water is being run through 2 years of crud. If you don't replace it just remove it. I hope this helps, Jeff

The ice maker in my whirlpool gold refrigerator Model No, GR2FHTXTBOO, is not working.

Hello jitkagardner,
Welcome

You said, The ice maker in my whirlpool gold refrigerator Model No, GR2FHTXTBOO, is not working.

How old is the fridge?
When have you last changed the water filter.
Should be down below at the front grille!
Try these tasks!

If the ice maker is not producing ice or not enough ice
Refrigerator connected to a water supply and the supply
shutoff valve turned on? Connect refrigerator to water
supply and turn water shutoff valve fully open.
• Kink in the water source line? A kink in the line can reduce
water flow. Straighten the water source line.
• Ice maker turned on? Make sure wire shutoff arm or switch
(depending on model) is in the ON position.
• New installation? Wait 24 hours after ice maker installation
for ice production to begin. Wait 72 hours for full ice
production.
• Freezer door closed completely? Firmly close the freezer
compartment door. If the freezer compartment door will not
close all the way, see "The doors will not close completely."
• Large amount of ice recently removed? Allow 24 hours for
ice maker to produce more ice.
• Ice cube jammed in the ice maker ejector arm?
Remove ice from the ejector arm with a plastic utensil.
• Water filter installed on the refrigerator? Remove filter and
operate ice maker. If ice volume improves, then the filter may
be clogged or incorrectly installed. Replace filter or reinstall it
correctly.
• Reverse osmosis water filtration system connected to
your cold water supply? This can decrease water pressure.

Let me know how it goes!
