Dryers work on two 120 volt circuits which is why the breaker in your electrical panel is twice as wide as a normal breaker. If you can get an electrical tester you can check the wall plug to ensure you are getting at least 220 volts from the two straight plug holes. Put the tester on AC Volts, place one lead to one side and the other to the other slot. If you have a problem getting this to work you can also go from the slot to the round plug hole. Then again from the other side to the round plug hole, doing it this way you should get 120 volts.

Won't heat - otherwise acts normally....

You could check for obstructed vent of excessive lint.
I have an old dryer manual for fisher/paykel
for the x1, how different can they be? LOL

Fisher paykel elec dryer not heating

Check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Heating element
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Dryer tries to start - then stops and beeps PLEASE HELP

Check the exhaust hose. If the dryer isn't venting properly it will either stop or the heater will turn off and the clothes will remain wet. If the hose is not clogged check the wall vent tube.
