Ive got music loaded on the player.
Any ideas on what might be the problem?

I had the same or similar message and sent it away to be fixed last year. When it came back they said that it was because i had uploaded incompatible files (wma-windows media player files) and so it had corrupted the player. When i got it back I uploaded new files using the updated Sonicstage software (still not all that user-friendly) and had no problems.
I've since bought a new computer and no longer have the original software cd so i'm still trying to locate a free download (if anyone knows where i can get one, please let me know!) so that i can continue using it.

Dont waste ur time with Connect Player instead stick to Sonic Stage 4 or higher ver. It'll not make any more probs and once u start using u;ll know that its far far better than stupid CP. And we should accept the fact that IPOD is the king of MP3 players and itunes soft also its as simple as chewing a gelly candy.
In a resolut mattern
1. disinstallation of sonic stage software (the music is not lost),
2. initialization of the player, this five times for sicurezza
3. from the sonic homepage i installed the: NW-A1000_V3_00 and the I updated the player (it was updates ago, but I made it now two times,
4. installation of sonic stage (the player was not collected), restart of the laptop,
5 start of sonic stage and when the programm ask from where it have to import the music I choose ONLY: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\SonicStage\Packages
5.collect the player
and there was a wonder

Did you use sonicstage or connect to add the tracks? Because if you try to copy and paste to the removeable disk it doesn't recognise the tracks.

i have had my sony nw-a1000 walkman for 2 1/2 yrs now and im still having problems with it.i had two sample songs on it when i got it,had problems getting the software to work to put more songs on.my brother managed to transfer some songs off his pc and i know their on my walkman as i can play the music on my walkman if its hooked upto the pc through windows media player but you cant play it through the walkman alone, plus it says theres no songs when i switch it on and says no data base found,my brother says that the songs must be in the wrong format for the walkman to recognise.how can i get the music off my walkman to my pc,please help

Couple of weeks ago my computer crash and I lost all my data on my PC
I manage to recover most of my files but some were corrupted.
I re-intall connect player software on my PC and plug my sony walkman in.
All my music was re-transfered to my library.
Since then I am unable to transfer music back on my NW-A1000 walkman.
I decided to restored the factory settings and deleted all my music from the device, did uninstall the software and install it again several time still no luck.
Nevertheless when I open the connect player program on my PC all the songs are still there in the background on the player part saying ready to delete but nothing happen.
I am still unable to transfer music and do get the following message on the player "No database found. Connect compliant software and transfer information."
please let me know your view, I am kind of stuck
