I had the tv on last night and it was fine. I turned the dvd player on for the first time with the new tv to watch a movie and after about 5 min. into the movie, 6 rectangular (dead pixels?) appeared towards the bottom of the screen. It looks the same on aux 1 (dvd player) and when i turn it off and just have the cable on. However, it doesn't do it on component 1 which is where i have my xbox 360 hooked up to?
Does anyone have any suggestions on how it might have happened a possible remedy for this?

Sounds like a bad connection on a ribbon cable or plug comming or going to the LCD display. This is something you should not try to fix as these circuits are very very fradgile and you can easily break or tear a ribbon cable . Call the manufacturer to get a tech to assit you. Good Luck

reseat the LVDS cable inside the unit. this is the cable from the main board to the panel. if the problem is still there then replace the main board 1st, part # BN94-00629F. if the problem is still there then the panel is bad, part # BN07-00245A. if you are not familar with TV repair have a tech repair this for you, if it is under warranty call the manufacturer for nearest repair place.

Have you try to replace your HDMI cable?I recommend you to pick up a good Monster HD700 HDMI cable from a local retail store like best buy or circuit city.In case it isn't the cable problem, you could return it.
However, when you are a using the HDMI cable,it is normally either have both picture and sound or nothing at all.Are you sure you didn't hook up the audio OUTPUT from your TV back to a receiver input?
Or even an optical output from the TV to the receiver?

That's a flaw in the driver/timing circuits, but it could also be something simple like a ruptured ribbon cable or poor connection during manufacturing. Simple or not either way the driver/timing circuits need to be serviced by a professional technician.

I talked to a Samsung support helpline and it needs to be taken to a service center for repair.
