I have an E-machine D4362 running windows XP home edition. When I push the power button on the front I get a power light, DVD light and the mother board fan starts. However the case fan does not come on, I get constant beeps from the computer and no display. (the video display works fine on another computer). Will the fact that the case fan is not running cause this trouble or should I look elsewhere.
Different beeping patterns are codes which indicate what part of the hardware has failed (ram, video card, cpu, ect). the fan failure would not cause beeps, and would not cause the cpu to fail unless already in windows. if you could find out the manufacturer of your motherboard you could check with them about what the paticular pattern of beeps which you are getting mean.

e-machine, D3123, runs, (fans), but will not "fire-up",
no signal to the monitor.
