Drawer Freezer. Doesn't completely freeze food

Good Morning Stacey, thank you for your post!

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator is not freezing food properly. What temperature is your refrigerator set to? How much do you have packed into the freezer? Is this a new refrigerator? Could you also provide me with your model number? You can locate the serial (which lists your model number) on the inside wall of your fresh food side. Once I have that additional information I would be able to assist you further. -Matt

Fresh food compartment is too cold.

It's ether a bad thermister out thermostat or a damper stuck open I would guess.

The fresh food compartment on my PLHS267za fridge is freezing. Have tried turning the temp all the way down and it is still freezing. What could the problem be?

damper stuck open by the fresh food thermostat. the unit doesnt know that it is cold enough so the damper stays open letting cold air from the freezer to continue to travle over.

We have a ge side by side and the refrigerator is freesing stuff. the model number is GSS25X SNA BS

Is it all areas of the fresh food side that are freezing your items, or is it the drawer area?

There is a direct connection (on my GE side-by-side, at least) between the freezer compartment and the drawers in the fresh food compartment. The size of the connection is controlled with a wheel or a slider. This could contribute to freezing in that area of the fresh food compartment.

Otherwise, it could be the temp sensor(s) in the fresh food compartment. If the computer thinks the temp is too high in the fresh food compartment, it will continue to cool.

It could be a problem with the motorized door that connects the freezer compartment to the fresh food compartment, located at the top of the dividing wall between the compartment. That door should close when the temp in the fresh food compartment is cold enough. If that door mechanism has failed, is disconnected, or otherwise blocked in the open position, cold air from the freezer compartment will continue to circulate into the fresh food compartment.

Food and drinks freezing in my refrigerator. How do I adjust?

Inside your refrigerator is a control on left side of the panel. Try to adjust there and try to close the dampers near the lower drawer bins. If that don't work change the temp a little higher in the fresh food compartment. But closing the ducts should do the thing. Let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

Fridge keeps on freezing everything inside of it

This refrigerator only has one thermostat located in the fresh food compartment it is designed to activate the sealed system (cooling) until it reaches approximately 37 deg f in the fresh food compartment. The damper controls how fast the cold air can move from the freezer compartment to the fresh food compartment. Allowing you to control the temp in the freezer by controlling the flow of cold air to the thermostat.

You have one of two problems.
#1 your thermostat is no longer opening when it achieves set temp. fix = replace thermostat pn 61005798 $35
#2 your damper arm or assemblie has broken. Fix = Replace damper or broken arm and actuator.
damper assembly pn12001377 $44
damper actuator pn 61002000 $2
damper arm pn 61001999 $2

Top mounted freezer on refrigerator not working

Move the refrigerator to a room that is at least 50 degrees F.

Temps on most refrigerators are regulated by the fresh foods temp. If your garage is let's say 35 degrees, the fresh foods temp will most likely never raise enough to turn the refrigerator on. With the refrigerator never running, the freezer compartment will warm to 35 degrees, resulting in everything melting. Even if garage is a bit warmer, say 45, the refrig will not run long enough for the freezer to maintain a low enough temperture. If the garage temp falls to below freezing, say 20 degrees, the food in the fresh foods compartment will freeze. (outdoor beverage dispensers have internal heaters to prevent product from freezing !) Please don't rate this if not a Fix-Ya for you, as anything else lowers my score.

Fresh food side freezing

the air damper is stuck open or tempature control is bad. look thru the vents(use a mirror) on the left rear(top side) of the fresh food compartment (right hand door) to see if the air damper is open/closed. i am sure it will be open since your freezing food in the ref section. if it is open ,watching with your mirror turn ref (fresh food) control off. the air dmper should close, if not damper could be stuck(ice build up,piece of foam, ect) if you can determine damper door is free, then best thing to do is replace controlassy.(120.00 or so) good luck
