you can use the suffix or prefix to send characters, which are not included in the barcodes tgehter with the scanned barcode data.
If you dont need any character before or after the data, you can leave it blank.
It is usually used to add an Enter or Tab to switch to the next line, while scanning to some application like excel.
You would need an application, which can use the scanner. If there is no app preinstalled use the DataWedge provided by Symbol on their support pages. http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=10774 You can install the whole package on the desktop PC and then connect your PDA. The DataWedge will be installed automatically.
To get scanner to work on MC9090 WM5 and scan into excel, I had to install DataWedge From Here

The setup your data, the you can do a find, to find the cross ref
You need to be in an application first. For example, launch mobile Excel and make sure your cursor is in a cell. When you scan, it will enter into that cell. Just make sure the cursor is in the cell you are trying to get the info into before you scan (If it's not working, the app you're running may not be compatible with the scanning function, but I've never seen this).
Oddly enough, from what I've seen, if you just scan something without having an app launch, I've seen the MC70 default to the phone function and try to dial the number scanned.
i has mc70 barcode scanner .My problem is can not scan the barcode smoothly i need scan one barcode using 15 min then the thing scanned .Please help and advise ?
