Blower Motor not working

That is a good possibility. Order motor from appliance repair shop in your area.

On this weird dryer the blower is not mounted to the motor. Instead a fancy blower is mounted away from the dryer and requires a second smaller belt to drive it. What goes wrong? The drive pulley for the blower often falls off the motor. Locktite is recommended to keep the blower pulley secure to the motor shaft or this will be the result:

when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer and the vent line?next time send the brand name and model number off of the machine,just cleaning off the lint filter isn't good enough,you should have the dryer taken apart,clean the duct that the filter slides into,vac out the cabinet where the motor is and if the vent line is a long run from the back of the dryer to the outside you can remove the vent line from the back of the dryer and blow it out with a leaf blower,as long as there isn't a cage or anything on the outside hood stick the leaf blower in the vent line and blow the lint outside,also while you have the vent line off the back start the dryer and make sure you feel air blowing out the back of the dryer,if it doesn't you could have a problem with the blower wheel the dryer should be cleaned out at least once a year if it's gas and once every 1 1/2 to 2 years if it's electric.hope this helps and good luck with your dryer.

If the dryer gets hot, but not drying the clothes my first question would be if the drum is turning or not. If not then I would check the belt and make sure it isn't busted. Then I would check to make sure that your exhause hose is not clogged up. If so clean out.

But if that isn't the problem then I would check the blower assembly.

Something is still blocking the air flow to the outside, or the motor is burned out. Pull your lint filter out and turn the dryer on. You should be able to hear and feel air rushing through the lint filter hole. If no air is coming out the blower motor is porbably burned out. If something actually stops the blower wheel from turning it will quickly burn the motor out. Remove the back panel to access the fan motor. Be sure to unplug the dryer before removing any panels. If air is flowing at the lint filter, your vent line is stopped up.

Since you did not provide a model number I picked a similar model for reference using this model number: MDE5721TQO (there are at least 40 different model numbers but the blowers are all the same) You blower is driven directly by the motor so unless the blower itself has come apart or the drive spline in the blower has failed in some way you more than likely have a major build up of lint in your dryer.

You can turn the motor by hand and see if the blower is turning by losening the housing screws for the blower while using a flashlight. If the blower is turning then you need to find out where the blockage of lint has built up and remove it. I would startt around the lint filter. NOTE The drum will also turn.if you rotate the motor pulley. Just make sure the unit is unplugged while you attempt this. If you do locate the blockage I have found that a well bent into a U shaped METAL coat hanger works well. Do NOT poke any sharp objects into the air ducting areas of your dryer while trying to find any blockages and avoid the heating element area with anything metal or sharp. A vacuum crevice tool works great during this task. Good luck and I do hope you are able to locate the problem based on the information here.

thats the reason your clothes aren't dry.Have to have air moving through tub. Check fan motor probably a thermal overheat fuse that has blown or if motor is turning, look at the fan and see if it has a set screw or retaining ring that holds it on the shaft or both fan may not be turning with the shaft. More than likely though the blower motor overheated or just plain worn out.

Pay particular attention to the paragraph that discusses your dryer ducting. Cleaning the lint trap often is not enough to keep accumulations of lint from building up inside your dryer air blower housing and/or associated exhause ventilation. Use the advice I've given on how to quickly determine if you have a blockage internal to your dryer or external. Vent lines that run through an attic or under a crawl space are the worst, because they create resistance for the blower motor to work against. With an attic line, you have gravity working against you, because the blower has to force the air upward and out. In a crawl space, you have sags in the line working against you that create choke points for lint to accumulate. Also, it is recommended that you leave the dryer about a foot away from the wall so that you do not crush the vent hose. Make sure you use the semi-rigid metal type of ducting because it resists crushing, rodent infestation and is heat resistant.

The reason I'm pinging on your ventilation is because you stated that the dryer is getting warm. This indicates to me that the heating circuits are trying to work. If the dryer is left in its current state, however, the heating circuits will actually overheat to the point of failure. Before assuming you have a failed component, I would recommend a little maintenance on the dryer interior and vent lines just to be sure. I hope this helps you. Okay, I think we need to back up a bit here. I need to know, first, if the dryer ignites. This is a GAS dryer, correct? I need to know if the igniter is glowing, and if you can hear the gas start flowing when you have ignition. If not, this could be a simple igniter or gas coil problem. If there is ignition and the drum is turning, do you have air flow coming out of the dryer vent exhaust? If there is air flow, you cannot possibly have a blower wheel problem. We need to rule out some possibilities before we start disassembling the dryer. I'm a bit miffed as to why someone would tell you that the motor was the problem. Since I was not there, I need to know as many symptoms that you can provide, so I can give you with a correct assessment.
