Tv was struck by lightning, will not come on. will power supply board fix this

You can find used power supply boards and main boards on ebay, maybe other sites that offer repair parts, but it's hard to say if the damage was limited to just the power board. You might get lucky and fix it with a replacement board, or you could end up several hundred dollars more to keep the TV working. You just have to decide if it's worth the investment to fix vs replace.

Chances of lightning damaging the power cord are slim to none, unfortunately it could be almost any board in the set, check the various power supply voltages on the boards and see if they are correct, almost every board has a power supply in it

any answer here will be pure guessing. and the cost versus the risk of not working by replacing all four boards may make it worth buying a new tv instead.

if you were to try and fix it i would not do anything more than trying to fix or replace the power supply board. . if the power surge has gone further in the electronics. its rarely worth trying to fix

Your probably have power supply damage, but lightning strikes can do major damage in all circuits.

tried to reset the tv first, if struck by lightning the tuner will be damaged or the main board but since the tv is still working so i think not the lightning was the main cause.

As u have just said that it was struck by lightning the only way to get the TV back working is to replace burnt items on the moterboard .becouse lightning must have demaged some components on the power supply, if possible i would preffer a new power supply board

You wont be able to fix the TV your self as the power circuit board may have blown - consult a qualified repair man. Buying a surge protector for your expensive electronic goods is highly recommended.

Hate to see a $1,000 TV go down the toilet.
If your lucky, you can try checking the fuses inside the TV.
The lightning may have taking out only your power supply board, shopjimmy.com may have replacements for about $100. But, I can't tell you for sure that will fix the problem.
You may have to take to a repair shop to find out for sure.
