We have a Loewe View Vision DVD. Several times this year, the DVD has 'frozen'. This seems to happen after someone unfamiliar with the machine pushes a wrong button (or several). The remote no longer 'talks' to the DVD and, while we can change TV channels manually from the DVD, we can't access anything stored on the HDD and the remote will not talk to the DVD at all. The cost of having the machine factory reset several times a year is becoming a problem and I'd like to learn how to reset the machine myself.

Dear Azraelsri, I was sceptical about this response as I've tried this numerous times. (It says 5 secs in the manual). Each time I press the power button it powers up and down in a cycle but never goes to red light (off). This time I have pressed the button for more than 15 secs, but same thing happened. Unit did not power down but seemed to cycle through high and low power settings without ever turning off. I lifted my finger and switched the unit off, then turned off at the wall and unplugged. I waited over a minute and restarted, but still can't reconfigure. Can't reconfigure from DVD unit and remote is still not talking to DVD. We have checked remote batteries and believe it is sending a signal as red light on remote lights up when buttons are pressed (eg: REC or DVD or MENU) but nothing happens. No instructions are appearing on screen to enable reset. Screen remains black. Abigail

Wow that is very strange indeed. Not sure if someone has suggested it yet or not, but have you tried a reset in the method of unplugging the power from the source for a good 3 minutes, then replugging it in? So let me verify, no functions on the remote work at all right now? That is very very strange, there should be no button you can press that does that. It sounds like this machine is experiencing hardware problems for sure.. but let me know more.

Let me know and I can help!

To reset the machine to factory settings it's easy - just press the power button from the case for 15 seconds and the unit will shutdown - unplug it from the wall after that. Wait one minute and restart. After that you will have to reconfigure it.

Of course you have checked that the tv is set to receive the signal from the Loewe recorder and its remote is set on REC.
I have assumed that the unit behaves the same when you press the buttons on the case. In that case the problem is hardware, not software - the firmware was corrupted. Pressing on some buttons on a remote has nothing to do with it - it fails because the processor chokes. You must take it to a service shop for a proper fixing, reloading a new firmware is not such a thing.

Our CAL232 TV will not turn on. When pressing the power button, you can see a red light and a green light, but the screen doesn't start up as normal. The TV then tries again after about 20 seconds, but...

Hello,

My LOEWE CAL 232 will not power up. When the power button is pressed, the monitor turns on, with the LOEWE on the monitor, then the TV continues with the previous activity (antenna, DVD, VCR etc.). Now all that happens is

1. the red light comes on

2.after about 1 second the green light turns on for about 12 seconds

3. the the green light turns off for about 1 second

4. then the green light turns on again for about 12 seconds

and this continues until the power button is pressed to turn the TV off. During this time, the monitor does not turn on and the only sound I hear seems to eminate from the power button.

Any thoughts?

Creative Zen Vision M frozen on the start up screen

Hey guys, I've had the same problem for over 2 years. Guess what? I fixed it today!! It is indeed a hard drive issue. I recommend following a guide to disassemble your zen. (Remember, this is only if you dont have any other choice) When you disconnect your hard drive, plug it right back in there pushing hard on it to make sure it is connected completely. IF that does not work, this is the final resort.

I did this and it worked. Normally you arent supposed to ever do this to any kind of hard drive. But why not? since it is already broken. lightlyish hit it a few times, and take the end of a screw driver and stick it in the hole on the end of the hd and pry it loose a tad. you arent trying to pop it open, just givve it a little breathing room. Worked for me, normally it shouldnt. But no one seems to be sharing anything so hopefully this helps someone some time in the future.

Our borrowed Flip (Ultra?) seems to be frozen ON.

I have the same problem and found something that kinda worked for me. Hopefully it'll work for someone else. Turn on the flip while holding down the - key. It should power up normally and allow you to view/record etc. Several videos say "Invalid Format" or something like that on the screen, but most are ok and I can record. Better than a completely dead one.

Sound but not picture

I have the same problem. I pushed the EZ View button to see what it would do and I lost all picture to the DVD but the VCR worked fine. I searched the WEB ALOT.... and there seems to be alot of this but no help! Well - GOOD NEWS- I have your rescue - if you haven't thrown the dang thing out yet. I went to the Samsung website and here is how to reset the V4600. Turn the unit on, then press the Fast Forward AND the Rewind buttons at the same time and hold down for 15 seconds. WHala... It's all back! Here's a link so others can view it. It gives the reset for all machines. They ARE different.

Good Luck!
