I just rebuilt my a-200. I believe the motor is running backwards. It is rubbing in the back where the motor shaft protrudes and is covered by an aluminum plate. So bad that when I removed the plate and turned it on, the shaft shot out the back. If i am not mistaken it should pull itself in, not push itself out.
I followed the wiring diagram perfectly and verified its correctness.
How do I reverse the direction?
Do I swap the Hot and Neutral?

No, do not swap hot and N.
First, verify rotation. As the attachment shaft rotates, it should push the engagement pin into the keeper slot. Looking down on top of the mixer, the planetary should rotate clockwise.
If the unit runs backwards, does it start slow? Can you get it to run either way by giving it a push start before turning on the power? If so, your start switch is not working properly. (Which is my guess) Check your capacitor.
There is mechanical and electronic start switches. (Metal arms and a contact or a little gold rectangular metal can.)

I don't know the version of mixer you actually have. On the data plate is the "ML" number. Parts for most any version of an A200 should be available. I'd need the ML and the P/N's you received to be of more help.

Look at both previous links, you will see the relay you purchased AND the Sinpac start switch in both units.

Two thoughts --
One is common -- there is a spring washer behind the back bearing.
The other, and often missed -- make sure the back bearing bracket is properly seated. It's not to difficult for it to hang up, and not seat fully.
Otherwise, you'll really need to inspect the bearings and worm gear. But I really doubt your problem stems in this area.

Note page 12. Items 11, bracket/rear housing, item 21, spacer!!!!,
First, there is no spring washer involved here. (like I mentioned earlier) I assume, you're missing the spacer. The spacer holds the bearing in place. Without the spacer, the entire armature will thrust.
Secondary, but to clarify what I meant earlier .... make sure Item 11 is properly seated. Because the machining is tight, it doesn't always seat proper.
But at this point, I think you're missing the spacer, or you may be testing it without the spacer or retaining plate installed.

I went ahead and got a new capacitor and start switch.
However, they have switched brands on the switch and the numbering on the diagram I have no longer lines up.
Any thoughts?
The old one had 1,2,3,4 the new one has 0,1,2,4,6,8
0,1 looks to be the cap terminals and 2,4 looks to be the switch but im not sure how that lines up with the old unless 3,4 was the cap and 1,2 was the switch.

The new part is from the second drawing you posted, it is part number 87714-42-1.
The old is a Sinpak Switch from Rexnord Corporation Stearns division. It is labeled CV 16.
Ok, so I got the sinpak and now everything is new except the coil.
The motor is definately running in the right direction.
I am at a loss however because the shaft still wants to shoot out the back.
I can hear it rubbing against the back cover!
What am I missing. I thought that with the proper direction, the shaft would pull itself toward the front. Instead it is pushing itself out the back.
I feel like I am missing a part or something. I have looked at the diagram time and time again but still nothing.

Ok, so my mixer most resembles the drawing 19357.
Your last post didn't make much sense but it got me thinking!
I thought resistance may force the shaft backwards so I loosened things up a bit as they were fairly tight. It doesn't shoot out the back when running anymore, but as soon as I stop it, out it goes.
Next question, How tight should the worm gear spring be and could that be part of my problem.
Also, could I have the clutch reversed? If I turn the planetary clockwise(proper), it rotates freely without moving the motor. If I turn the planetary counter clockwise, it turns the motor. Also, when running the motor, putting pressure on the planetary forces the motor to shoot backwards.
Am I on to something? It seems to me that reversing the clutch would get the results I am looking for, assuming that it only slips at lower speeds.

Wow, finally! It has been six months since I started and I stopped work on this project for several due to a busy schedule.
I vaguely remember the spacer. I have been kicking it around the garage floor for months thinking it was part of my tow hitch!
