Hi,

It looks like you are the victim of a PayPal phishing attempt.

Phishing is used by cyber criminals to fraudulently obtain people's private information. You can forward those e-mails to PayPal's Fraud Prevention department at [email protected], then delete the e-mails.

PayPal has a three-part guide to understanding phishing available here.

Keep in mind that phishing attempts are not just targeted towards PayPal but thousands of other sites as well.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

First of all make sure your computer is clean and free from virus or trojan. This is to make sure the hacker won't be able to get into your email outside paypal. Please don't also use the password of your email address to make it safe for your paypal.

Step two : Go to paypal.com and make sure you are on the home. Click Problem with Login. Choose I dont know my password and type in the Verification code. Then enter the email addres of your paypal. IF it shows error then Choose the other option which is ""I don't know what email address I use"" then ""I need to create a new password""

Step three : Go to your email and check the email of paypal.

Good luck

How can I reset my password, when I can't answer the security questions, and the bank card on my account has now changed and doesn't match?

To recover your account password you can do so here https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_account-recovery&from=PayPal

If you cannot obtain the password because you no longer have access to the original account then there is an option to reset your password by phone.

Simply go to the link above and click I don't know my password - a box will appear below which then asks you to enter your email address. Enter the address for the paypal account and click continue. A message will come up stating it has sent reset details via email.

Underneath this you will see a message stating that if you no longer have access to the email to verify by phone and a link. Follow this link and it will bring up numbers to call you on to verify. Once you have done this you will be able to reset your password.

My account was charged twice for $35.60 on the same day, 5/6/11. I don't remember this charge. My father-in-law's account has been charged twice for $1000 and I did not authorize those charges.

Your paypal account was hacked by someone, and after he uses the account he delete the history. call paypay or change your password.
and your email address.

I just received an email that my account had some questionable activity and they wanted me to sign in to an email address that they sent. Is this from you ? Some months ago, I had a similar email...

to verify it is from paypal just login to your own paypal account and the message will be in there. If it isnt forward it to paypal themselves so they can investigate. A word of warning when receiving any emails from anyone asking for info like this ,is to always type the web address into the browser yourself rather than clicking links they have supplied in the email

As per Paypal:
Question : Can I register a credit card on more than one PayPal account?
Answer : No. For your security, you can register a credit card on just one PayPal account at a time. You may, however, register several different credit cards on a single PayPal account.

If your credit card was registered to a different PayPal account, you need to log in to the previous account and remove the card before adding it to your new account. To remove credit cards from your account click Profile at the top of the page and click the Credit/Debit Cards link in the Financial Information column.
Question : What if I forgot my email address?

  1. Go to the PayPal homepage and click Problem with login?.

  3. Enter up to 3 email addresses you might have used to sign up for your PayPal account.
  4. Enter the code shown in the image.

Trying to add credit card to account. Profile says

It sounds like you may have more than one PAYPAL account. You may have opened another PAYPAL account with a different email adderess, or possibly someone else has set up an accoun t with your credit card details. Try logging in to PAYPAL with any other email addresses you have.

here are the PAYPAL guideliens for lost email addresses:

I forgot or I don’t have access to my PayPal email address. What can I do? Question : Answer : I have forgotten my email address

If you do not remember the email address registered on your account, PayPal will need to verify your identity by asking you a few questions. For security reasons, all the information you provide must match your PayPal account in order for us to reveal your email address.

To recover your email address, follow these steps:
  1. Visit the PayPal website at www.paypal.co.uk
  2. Click the ‘email’ link under the ‘Log In’ button
  3. Enter the requested information
  4. Enter the security code by typing the letters and numbers shown then click ’Continue’
  5. Click ‘Submit’
The email address matching the information you provide will appear in the email field on the ‘Account Login’ box. You can then log in to your PayPal account using the corresponding password.

If you have forgotten your password, click the ‘password’ link under the ‘Log In’ button and follow the instructions.

I no longer have access to the email address registered to my PayPal account

Even if you no longer have access to the email address, you must still enter this address to log in to your PayPal account as this is how the PayPal system recognises you. After you log in, you can change the email address then use the new one when you next log in to your account.
If you definitely only have one PAYPAL account, I suggest you go the the PAYPAL Help section and report the problem.
