I was watching a movie on the dvd, then after the movie was done I turned the tv off. Two hours later, I was turning the tv on to watch a football game but I got no picture, all I got is vertical lines in different colors. What do you think I can do.

How do i set my Toshiba ct-90157 remote to watch dvd's

Most DVD players are connected to one of the rear audio/video inputs--hook to that input and select it on the TV--then hit play and if connected correctly you will see the movie.

Hi, DVD drive issue, new TOSHIBA A660-17t laptop. DVD movies freeze after sometime (at various points). Tried different players - no help. Those movies work on other laptop. Movies from HDD...

The problem here is with the lens. It is weakened by constant playing of media.
It is usually not very advisable to watch movies, or play songs directly from the DVD drive. This is because this damages the lens especially when you rewind and fast forward on it.
When ever you want to watch a movie, it is best you copy it onto your HDD first, then watch. You could delete it later when you are done if you are 'space conscious'.
In the mean time, you would have your lens checked, and probalbly changed.

I hope that this was helpful?
Have a nice day.

It's not working. The profanity still comes through when watching a dvd. I tried setting the tv on caption cc2. I think I did that. It did not make a difference.

U can't not stop profanity,if u watch NC17,PG13 or Rated R DVD movies.Captioning CC1,2,3 dosen't effect the DVD movie. It only have captioning on the tv that in tv brocasting shows, not in the DVD movie. If u want no profanity in movies watch PG movies.

Audio fluctuation with volume

It is common theese days to have volume fluxuation while watching TV when viewing a HD show and going to a commercial break it gets ungodly loud, that's from digital to analog variance. However what you describe and the way you describe it leads me to believe its a chip in the receiver. The only way to really know for sure would be to hook up a DVD to your TV input and play a long movie " the godfather" or something like that which is a three hour or so movie and listen for the issue to occur. If it does, you know your receiver needs to be serviced. If it doesn't, swap your cable box or DSS with another one if possible and test again. It will take some time, but it won't cost you anything! Hope this helps. If you still have issues with it, send a response and we can try other things as well.

I have wasted 4 hours with 1 of your so called (experts) i want answers not excuses

Don't know if I can help or not, but this what I do.
I've downloaded the DIVx player and converter software (free) to my computer. I can download mpeg, avi movies, etc, and convert them to DIVx format if I need to. The DIVx player has a 'burn' feature that is fast and burns them in a DIVx format. My old DVD Recorder will not play DIVx format but my 'cheap' Phillips will. I just keep it hooked up to my old DVD recorder through the front RCA input jacks. When I want to play a DIVx movie and watch it on the TV, I use the cheap Phillips player. I have to change the input on my old DVD Recorder to 'Front Input. I usually record the movie on a DVD R in my DVD Recorder while I'm watching it if I want to keep a copy to play later on the DVD Recorder. Most of the time, I burn the movies to RW DVD and erase them later.

I don't remember the web site for the DIVx players and converters, but you should be able to find it with a search.

Hope this helps.

Need Help

Sounds like you have a loose cable. Check that the connection is really in well. If the problem continues I would get a new set of cables, especially if you are using the ones that came with the receiver or dvd player.

Left a dvd movie in player overnight - now have no audio.

Did you double check the connections from the DVD player to the TV? Maybe something happened to the connection overnight. If that dosen't seem to be the issue then the only other thing I can think of is that the Audio Encoding chip inside the player must have gone bad. The problem now is that it would cost more to repair the audio encoding chip then replace the whole player.

Sorry I couldn't help any further.

Trouble Loading & Not Registering To TV

I can't say 100% but it sounds similar to the problem I had with the same model . The sleep mode in the on/off switch had gone bad and a new switch fixed the problem. It was about $42 to rtepair at my local electronics repair shop. Hope this helps.

Blue Box in the Corner won't turn off!

That problem might be on the remote of display settings on video display. There is one button that will turn that off. Try Display Settings
