1.Connect the Ac adapter to a known good power outlet. Check the Power LED indicator on AC adapter (without plugging into the Notebook). We are only checking the power AC adapter to see if that is working.
2.If LED on the AC adapter is not lit (when unplugged from notebook), reseat the AC adapter brick and cable. If still there is no light on AC Adapter replace AC adapter and Power cord.
3.If LED on the AC Adapter goes off only after connecting to Notebook, the issue is with the motherboard. Replace Motherboard, DC-In port (AC adapter connector).
4.If the AC Adapter LED is always ON, take a technician's help and reseat the Power Button Board. You can refer to the Service Manual for details on how to reseat the Power Button Board. (NOTE: Before the notebook chassis is opened ensure all the power connections including battery and external devices are disconnected)
Hello, there are three possible reasons of this issue.
1. Ac adapter 2. Battery 3. Motherboard - you don't want this part to have a problem. It is very expensive.
For this, you need to isolate which part is causing the problem.
1. Remove the battery from your netbook and use the ac adapter only in powering up your computer. 2. If it's not turning on (battery out and only the ac adapter is used), then check your ac adapter for signs of defects. It could be the ac adapter or the motherboard. If you have another ac adapter then you can try it.
3. If the ac adapter works with the computer, then you would need to replace the battery.
Hi, this information represents a basic troubleshooting guideline. Refer to your user guide for specific charging and connection instructions. Manuals may be available online in the Support Web site of HP.
Remove the battery from the computer. Confirm the battery contacts are free of any foreign material that may prevent charging. Reinsert the battery into the computer. Verify that the AC adapter cord is properly connected and plugged directly into a known working AC power outlet.
NOTE: If the battery charges correctly when the AC adapter is plugged directly into an AC power outlet, but not when plugged into a power strip or surge protector, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the computer battery or AC adapter.
Verify the correct AC adapter is being used. Ensure the AC adapter box power light is on. This will be an illuminated green light. If the AC adapter power light is not on, the AC adapter and power cord will need to be replaced. Verify the charging indicator is illuminated on the computer. If the issue still exists, install a different compatible HP battery, if available.
NOTE: If a replacement battery charges and operates correctly, the problem is with the first battery.
If neither the original nor a replacement battery charges, service may be required for the computer.
Try the following: 1. Remove the battery and plug in the AC adapter 2. Try to check if its working
Alternative: If its still does not work: 1. Try to check if the LED indicator of your AC Adapter is lit If its lit - the AC adapater is just fine If its not - the AC adapater needs to be replaced
If all fails - you need to change the motherboard of your laptop - you might have a blown fuse or a power supply error
Here is one on ebay:

appears to be a loose connection between the AC adapter and the computer. Inspect the port on the computer where the AC is being connected for any damaged. If available, try using another known-good AC with your computer to isolate if the problem is specific to the AC adapter. If the same thing happens with another AC, the motherboard needs to be replaced. If the warranty of your computer is still active, contact dell and request a replacement for the motherboard
I need the modem driver too. For the user who needs the wireless driver, the LM50a uses an Intel Pro/wireless 2200BG adapter. If you go to the intel page (www.intel.com) there will be updated drivers for the 2200BG adapter. I installed them and they work fine.
Hi, there,
It's seems your Inverter or AC Adapter is burnt out. Check if your AC Adapter is still on green light. If no green light, then you'll need replace a new one. If AC Adapter it OK, then you'll need a new Inverter. Drop me a note, I'll give you a good price. Thanks [email protected]
Hey, If you have tried changing the fuse on the plug and still have no joy, you can buy a replacement as long as the voltage, amps, and connection is the same you wont have any problems...
All the best
