Only way is to get a coat hanger and make a small hook on one end and try to slide it between the window and door panel and try to hook the door latch from inside the door.

door handle broke depends on what door handle it is.if door cant be open on out side out side door handle broke.if cant open door on inside inside door handle broke.door handle clip that connects to latch rod broken.when you try open door handle not engage to latch rod.door not going open.have to replace door handle with new clip holds latch rod in place.

it is an easy fix! there are 4 screws needing to come off the door to gain access to the interior. once in you will need to release a clip and also remove a bar from either an orange or black clip....once these are removed, you put in the new door handle, attach the clips back on, attach the screws and you are ready to go!

Remove the interior door panel and you will find two bars connecting the door lath and the door handle push or pull the bars up or down and you be able to open the door now you probably going to need a new door handle.

Happened to me too today. As I was pulling the handle, a piece inside snapped. The handle felt loose, as though it wasn't pulling the catch. To get the door open, I used a screwdriver. I pulled the handle as far out as I could, so that I could get the screwdriver in. The dark black metal part has to be levered away from the washing machine - in the direction the door would open. That will release the catch and then the door will open.

After the door is open, the challenge is to remove the handle. You'll need to undo all 10 (or so - from memory) of the little screws, so that the inner part of the door comes off. Be careful as you get to the last one - things will fall away. The handle and the small broken tab just fell out for me. Once the handle is out, you can put the door back together again. I use a small hex key to help open (and close) the door. With no handle, the catch springs a bit too far over for the door to close, so you'll need something (e.g. 1/8" hex key) to hold it over a little. So now, I can use the washing machine while I try to find a new part.

according to my partsman (who has had great advice for many years), you do not have to remove the door panel to replace the door handle which contains the cylinder lock. the handle is released with a screw which you can see when you open the door. you will need a starhead screwdriver or socket. A new handle costs around $40 at a parts store in my area. call around for a locksmith who will re-key your key to the new lock or use the key which comes with the new lock, your choice. i am in dealing with this also

you have to remove the inner door pannels to acess the handle rivited in i believe, drill oput the rivits and use new bolts & nuts

I have the same issue. The Handle broke off my GE Microwave Oven (Model JVM1190SY 001). GE does not sell the handle seperately from what I can tell. I just ordered a new door. It's rediculously expensive. I tried to replace the handle with a nice drawer pull but couldn't find a size pull to match and I broke the plastic cover trying to get access to the screws for the handle, which is why I decided to buy the new door. Hopefully installation is not that difficult. This oven was manufactured in 2001, seems the handles have a 7 year life span.
