I also need a service manual for Kyocera TASKalfa 181. Am getting an error code C3100.

I would check the connection to the main board as a backup error code can be caused by intermittant connectors.

The scanner lock button on the Kyocera TASKalfa 4012i is located on the left-hand side of the machine, towards the back of the scanner unit. It is a small lever that can be turned to lock or unlock the scanner unit.
To solve the C3100 error on the Kyocera TASKalfa 4012i, you should first check to make sure that the scanner lock is in the unlocked position. If the scanner lock is already unlocked, the issue may be related to the scanner motor or the scanner home position sensor.
In this case, it is recommended that you contact Kyocera technical support or a certified Kyocera service technician for assistance in resolving the issue.

It is fuser error try resetting it by running mode 163, otherwise replace the fuser unit.

scanner is still locked unlock the scanner

please unlock the 2 scanner lock on top left side of the machine. the lock will be in yellow colour and it will covered by red tape.

You need a technician to update the FIRMWARE

clean the optics for dust .it is related to the scanner and 90% is because of the dirty optics.clean it well

C6400 is a fixing unit error.

To reset -

Try this, enter "10871087" from keypad, You should now be in maintenance mode.
Enter "163"press "Start / Print" key.

You should see a screen that says "Execute".

Cursor / highlight "Execute".

Press "Start / Print key.

The machine will turn off and should come back to ready. If not then you need to replace the fixing unit.
