Dryer won't power up, it says check filter--is this the lint trap, there is no lint on the tray?? Not sure how to fix and I have clothes to dry!!
I just had this same problem with my dryer this morning. The filter was clean. My husband found that one of the other buttons on the control panel was stuck. It works now.
Check the door switch first.Than look for possible thermal fuse has cut off.
I had the same problem. I found it is easy to fix. Turn on power, then I saw "check filter" light is flash, I just turn the wheel to select"Normal", I saw the "check filter light is off. I press start botton, It started to work!
Try it if you have the same problem!

The check filter light comes on at the beginning and end of every load. It is normal. Turn the unit on, select cycle and press start. If the check filter is on, you have power.

I removed the lint filter, unscrewed the casing for it and vacuumed inside where I could. I vacuumed all the lint off the filter itself and the casing.
I have turned the dryer on and off, tried to change the settings, etc. It will not work.
FYI....I read another users post who said that they unplugged it and plugged it back in--this worked...It also solved the problem of the timer getting stuck at 6 min!!
The LG is built to flash the "check filter" message every time the dryer is used-it is intended to remind the user to clean the lint from the filter; of course, instead it freaks people out and makes them think there is something wrong with their dryers when there isn't
