My battery died and I had to get a new battery. I can not remember the security code for the car radio KDC-MP342u can you help?

You may have to contact the manufacturer for details on that. Check in your owners manual for the phone number of their customer service. I had a similar problem after changing battery but found the answer right in the manual. Mine was a Kia.

I have a kenwood car radio /cd my battery recently went and was replaced and the radio is now asking for a 4 digit code which i dont have .I have amanual but nothing is written in the back what can i do ?

You can enter a 4-digit security code which must be used when the unit is removed from the vehicle, or the constant power source is disconnected from the unit. When constant power is restored to the unit, the security code must be entered before the unit becomes operational.
If the code is lost or forgotten I am afraid the unit has to be re-coded by a Kenwood dealer.
Good luck with it.

I have a Kenwood car stereo model # KDC-MP342U. Protect mode has been activated on it. I found I had a frayed wire on a speaker from window movement and have replaced the wire. When I reset the radio and...

hold down preset 3 & 6 + reset
press preset 1 - shows dc err
press preset 1 - shows dc ok
press preset 2 - shows dc 2-4
press preset 2 - shows dc 2-0
then unit should be ok with eeprom reset

The screen on my KDC-MP342U just blinks with the word PROTECT

first, check your speakers and speaker wires for shorts, then disconnect power to the radio for a few seconds and reconnect it. if that doesn't work, then you probably have a bad output ic.
