URL means what and how to download video - YouTube Videos

This is a tip explaining step by step instructions on how to download youtube videos. This will include pictures and direct instructions.

Firstly, you need to open your browser and go to youtube, click HERE. Now, you need to go to the video you would like to download. for example:



Now, at the right end, go to the URL bar. Copy the whole URL.





Now, click HERE to open the download site.


Now Paste the URL you copied from Youtube into the URL box on Keepvid. Click download after you have Pasted the URL.







Now you will be able to choose which quality of the video you would like to download. Just click on download to proceed.





Just click on OK to download.

Remember that the video will be saved under Downloads.
After the download has completed, ENJOY!!!

Sometimes you are on YouTube and you just have to show someone that doesn't have a internet connection the video...So , how do you download it?

There are hundreds of methods to download a YouTube video.

I will be showing you how with two methods.

• Keepvid
• 1 Click YouTube Downloader for Firefox

#1 Keepvid


Before I got Firefox , I used to use keepvid all the time. It is a online downloader which means that you don't need to install software to download a YouTube clip.

Go to the Keepvid Site

Now , in another tab , open the YouTube clip you want to download.

Next to the YouTube clip there is a little box with a embed and URL link. See the image.



The part you are interested in is the URL of the clip. Click once on the URL text and this will select the link. Now press Ctrl+C or right click and select copy to save this information to your clipboard.

Now go to the keepvid tab and past the URL code into the URL bar at the top of the site. Then click download.

The site will then process the request and return the download links if they are available.



Now simply click on link for the quality/format you would like and your download will start.

#2 - 1 Click Youtube Video Downloader

This is my preferred method to download video's from YouTube since switching to Firefox.

If you would like to try Firefox , CLICK HERE to go to the download location.

Go the the add-on download location by clicking HERE and install the add-on by clicking the add to Firefox button.

Firefox will now download and install the plugin after which you will need to restart the browser.

Then , go to your favorite YouTube clip and you will notice in the info bar under the video there is a new addition :




Simply click on either the FLV , MP4 or 3GP button , and Firefox will download the video directly from YouTube.

Those are my preferred two ways of downloading a YouTube video. Always be sure that the video you are downloading does not have copyrights legally prohibiting you from doing so as this is considered a copyright violation. Most people who post video's don't mind.
