Asus vk266H Hi my monitor (ASUS VK266H) suddenly goes blank, however the LED power indicator remains blue. When I switch the monitor off and on again the display returns for a few seconds, however it goes blank/black again after a few seconds. Just over one year since I bought it. What could be the problem? Any assistance appreciated

The backlight driver could be going bad. The ballast control board most likely is the culprit.

SOURCE: monitor keeps going blank at start up

This looks to be a power supply fault - the inverters for the backlights are built into the power supply (Delta Electronics, model no. ADP-40AF).

SOURCE: NEC MultiSync lcd 2010 monitor blank screen

This is the common bad capacitor problem. The caps have died inside, and they can be replaced. If you have basic electronics skills, you can go in, order replacement caps, and unsolder and resolder. If you can't do it yourself, you can take it into a shop.

Here is a link to the Cap plague that explains what happens in detail. But I repair these all the time with that symptom.

Are there lights flashing on your keybord when you try to turn it back on? HP laptops are notorious for this. But Black screen of ***** can happen on any brand. The problem is in the graphic/video card. This problem usually occurs when the video card fails to work because it has overheated and is no longer soldered to the motherboard. It is a common problem, and the normally recommended fix is to re-flow your gpu (video card) and motherboard. The initial over heating could be caused by the internal fan not working properly. So if you have a re-flow done on your gpu also have the fan check and cleaned. There is YouTube videos on doing your own re-flow or reheat on the video card such as putting it in the oven or taking a hairdryer to the card But it is at your own risk and I don't recommend it especially if you have never tinkered around inside a computer before.

Why does my asus monitor always read "no signal".

nah that happens with me sometimes..
have you connect the cable properly?
if that still can't make it works, first turn on your PC and monitor..
then plug off the cable that power them, so that your computer and monitor will suddenly off..
plug it on again, then your monitor will work again..
that works on mine cause my CPU is too old and had a power problem..

I have the VE278Q which is connected by display port, every time i turn off my computer and then turn it back on the monitor can't be found, I have to unplug the display port cable, unplug the monitor,...

when you say monitor can't be found did you mean the monitor has no reactions when you turn on your pc?

here are some test you may need to do to know which part is faulty
1. Turn on your computer, did it display the monitor's logo on screen? When it does monitor is good, when only blank screen it could be the vga cable or the video card.
2. See if the led indication lit. When it lit to steady green, it's good signal is coming in from the video card. It should be followed by screen display. If no display it could be the backlight inverter lamp busted or faulty inverter board. When lit green then turns red, no signal coming from the video card. Check vga cable if fix properly to both monitor and video card. Or may need to reseat properly connection of video card from the motherboard. If no led indication lamp, then monitor is dead. Check ac power cord for continuity using multitester. Check power supply section in the monitor, replaced bulged or blown capacitor with exact value, this components were the first to get affected when lcd monitor failed o turn on.
3. When computer was turned on got display and then monitor turns black, go check the vga cable, Fix the connection properly or may need to replace it with new one.
4. When no signal appears or display blank screen after logo, then check video card. First remedy is to disconnect it the reseat properly to the motherboard. If this have no effect change your video card.

go follow these steps and let me know which is closely to your problem so I can give you a good advise.

VH222h Monitor. when switched on it displays ASUS then goes blank with blue power LED flashing no other functions

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.

You may want to troubleshoot your video graphics card first. This may not be an issue with the monitor.

Can you get another monitor and attach to computer? If so, see if it works. If it doesn't work, then your video graphics card is out on the computer and will need to be replaced. You can find a replacement on eBay for under $60.00, depending on what type you want.

If the monitor does display, then indeed the LCD is bad. It could be the inverter. To change these out are a little difficult. It would be better to take to get serviced as these are delicate and can be tough to put back together.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Work my web cam on my asus monitor

I too got the vk26 monitor with the built in webcam. So I too had the problem with the software. I tried drivers, redownloading and uninstalling..etc,etc. But packaged with the monitor is a series of cables, one of which you HAVE to plug the into the back of the monitor and into your computer. I thought that the dvi cable would take care of everything, ehh,I thought wrong. Asus didn't mention that in the very small worded monitor guide. So in short, once you install the software, you must you the usb cable that came with the monitor, plug that in,and you're good to go. =)
