Update maps for iCN 520

I want to update the maps, but I don't know how.
It has a memory card in that carries the maps, so I don't know how I could update that on my home computer.
Also, ho can I tell if the respective maps I use have been updated. I live in a new estate and I want to know that that estate's maps are visible before I would purchase an update.

    I have a ICN 520 Navman since 2005 and I wanted to upgrade the program of the memory to have the new roads installed.

    I have a computer with internet and is it posible to have it upgrade downloaded when connected to the computer?

    I have an iCN and I live in a brand new suburb on the outskirts of town. I cannot get any recognisable GPS until I travel to the neighbouring suburb. I would like to upgrade my maps, so I no longer have this problem

You can not update the official Navman maps on this device. You can however unlock the iCN520 and install other GPS software on it. The iCN520 can run virtually all the major GPS software available today; from Tomtom to Miomap and beyond.

Instructions on how to unlock the iCN520 can be found at:

Once unlocked you can even install games, emulators and several PPC applications. With Coreplayer installed you can watch movies and listen to mps3 from the Navman.

Where can i download the philippines map for my garmin nuvi 255W, including street map?
You need to have your satnav registered with garmin. Log into myGarmin and click on the myMaps tab at the top of the screen. If you don't already have a map of the Philippines click on "buy more maps" and follow the prompts. If you already have a map that you just want to update you can get details of how to update it at http://www.fixya.com/support/r5628920-update_garmin_satnav_maps
You can also get details there of how to register your satnav with garmin if you haven't already done so.

Please note that if this is not an update it's unlikely that your nuvi 255W will have enough space to hold a second map. If you're not updating or replacing a map I would advise against buying it as a second map. It is possible to install a second map to a memory card but there is a risk that it may not work. Memory cards in garmin satnavs appear to be very hit and miss. Some work and others don't for no aparent reason.

Lost my icn 520 map cd
Contact (I believe its Garmin for that model). I think you will have to buy another copy of their software. If your maps are more than a year old, they are due for an update anyways.
