I have a R50 W46 and I power off and it will power on by its self and I hear voice for a Quick second. I think its in my power supply. Im looking for a new power supply do you know where I can get one. The TV place I bought it from said they dont make parts anymore. I bought this TV on 01-08-05. Paid 1900.00 for this tv and dont want to give up on it. Maybe I dont know the problem. Thank you Rob Johnson

At eight years old, likley the power supply is failing. You can try unplugging for a1/2 hour and then plugging it back in to see if you get any power lights or hear any noise. If it makes noise for a second and then cuts out, it is very possible that the power supply has some bad capacitors on it. Depending on your level of technical ability you can either find another power supply or change the capacitors. If you look at the power supply, any capacitor that is bulging on top is bad. Really bad ones will look like they are leaking with a residue on top.

te power pack inside the tv has gone bad and needs replacement, contact manufacturer for parts.

The Rode NT1A mic is a condenser mic and therefore it REQUIRES that "phantom" power be supplied by the mixer or amplifier. You will get only electronic "noise" if the mic is not receiving this power. Look up Phantom power to understand it. Essentially DC power is sent up the mic cable between the signal lines and the shield of the cable and is used by the electronics in the mic to amplify the signal from the condenser element.

i think i have the same problem , i also have an ibm r50e and one day when i tried to turn it on it did the same thing . all the lights turn on and the only the battery and the left side light with akind of ray inside a circle stand on , it started on after a severl intents but im worried about the situation , i been looking on the web for the solution and your comment is the only thing i have found about the problem i will continue looking for the solution or cause . When lamp in TV become weak in result and consume more current then its rating , TV gets that symptom, on for few seconds/ minutes, shuts down and turns on itself.
Please replace lamp in TV as procedure is written in user manual of TV and its easy.

The best solution I could give would be to go on E-Bay and type "8 pin DIN" into the search, and just buy one. I just did. The price is higher with longer lengths, but it's worth NOT messing up the subs built-in amp by getting the pins wrong.

Does the sound not work either? If it does then the backlight in your lcd screen has went out and your better off buying a new one because it is more than the tv is worth to fix it. Just start running through the imputs with about a 5 second pause between as this tv takes a few seconds to switch imputs and make sure you have cable or something connected to it the imput button is the second one down from the power button on the bottom right side of the tv. But if you dont have sound and it just seems completly dead most likely it probly got hit by lightning and slowly quit. Or maby you need to just buy a power supply if you dont see the green light anymore. Worst case senario your tv just got up and quit or maby it burned it self up from getting to hot. You can get a power supply on ebay for as cheap as 34.99. Hope this helps.

Probably a bad power supply. Is it getting through power on self test? Any LEDs illuminated when you power it on? Best way is to first connect a terminal configured at 9600,N,8,1 to the console port and then power it on. If you see it running through self test in a few (10-30) seconds, then it's starting up, watch the screen for any errors. If not, then your power supply is probably shot.

it could be software related.....its not hardware related, cause they issue keeps coming back.....try reinstalling the software by going to www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade
